fairy, I thought Meg's advice on measuring was spot on. When I was doing my own ebay searching, I found many of the vendors listed the width of the frames (arm to arm).

I got these a while back on ebay. I found them while searching for "buddy holly" glasses, but the ones I got weren't the typical thick frame all around: They're thick on top and skinny, wire-type on the bottom.

I wish I could pull them off, but sadly I don't know. I would have to try. Two friends of mine, whom I think can.

ehh... i'm no so impressed with this trend.
If i was born in Canada i may have liked it, but back in my home countries i've seen too many stereotypical geeks like figures with geekglasses being portrayed. whatever i tell myself deep inside me i seem to resent it greatly.

I've been wearing this heavy frame since elementary school.
Purely functional than decorative to me

Alas, you're not in the city... in NYC lower east side there's a great vintage store called fabulous fanny's that sells TONS of vintage glasses. i just bought a pair of gradient darkgreen/yellowgreen bookish, geekish ones from the 60's. maybe not so geekish, but a smaller wayfarer shape.

I got a pair of smaller black wayfarer style sunnies, popped the lenses out and got my prescription put in. The frames cost about $12
