Should this add or subtract from your IQ?

Ridiculous.

I them, but imo it depends on the person wearing them and what they're wearing them with.

Ashley Olsen wore them once. They look okay on her but it all depends on who wears them. I prefer the slimmer ones. The more narrow glass ones. But of course, whatever Marc Jacobs makes is fantastics so...

I have a black thick-framed kinda square shaped pair from Prada. They have a slight greenish tint and they really suit my round face. I think they look good on almost everyone as long as you get a pair that flatters your face shape.

hmm does anyone here know someone who is working in optics? i wonder what they make glasses out of. a long time ago i saw a french show where a man made glasses out of wood and the parts that go over the ears with plastic. maybe i can make my own; i am taking a sculpture class right now

i am not sure if i should be offended by this thread......

i guess being a geek is ok...
geek chic and all that....
i know my ex said one of the reason he was first attracted to me was my glasses...which...yes...looked similar to the ones from the givenchy show (not as big)-paul smith men's actually...

i don't know...
it still feels like being called a geek is not really a compliment, you know?...no matter how 'chic' they try to make it sound...

anyway-
i only like this if you actually WEAR glasses...
if not...
i think it is odd and pretentious...
and slightly offensive...
some of us really need them to see, you know...

*it's sort of like rolling around in a wheelchair just cause you think it's 'cute'...
not so cute to the person who can't walk......

anyway....
that's the point of view of a girl who wears glasses....
...

Ok, just to get things straight... This thread is about GEEK glasses (OVERSIZED glasses with slightly thick frame), not GLASSES..... Some people are posting pics of glasses that have a thick frame... That's not the purpose of the thread....

Agree a bit with you Soft, I am a glass wearer, but I usually wear contact lenses.. I'd personally find it a bit pushed to far when seeing someone faking it.... But it's much less extreme than faking the wheelchair...

Marc Jacobs is ACTUALLY a geek though, there's nothing chic about it.

I've blinded myself reading Proust, I'd like a pair of Cutler & Gross but it's not bloody likely.

of course......
i chose something extreme intentionally in order to illustrate my point dramatically...

that is why i said 'sort of' like and not 'exactly' like...
