Geek Glasses
I am personally not a fan of this trend..... But I can't help but notice it...

What do you think of this? Trying too hard or cute?

I think thick black rimmed frames can suit some people, but on others it can look false.

very cute I agree. Im still waiting to see someone in real life who has the courage to wear frames like those. In a way the square thicker rimmed glasses are a variation of this look, although more ordinary and less "fashion"

I like the Buddy Holly ones, but not the ones at Givenchy.

If worn if the right thing, geek glasses can be very cute.

i'll be certainly looking for clear/non prescription glasses like that as soon as i have the money to afford them.. i got already an older pair but the frame is less thick and not as 'wide'

i seriously wear them as an accessorie, if only i had the right pair

Hehe...in Hong Kong, there are actually stores devoted to selling cheap non-prescription geek glasses. Practically most guys (and girls) wear those black frames. I used to have a pair but they really harshen my face - like it makes my face more stern?

I am sure you can find some really cheap vintage ones, or even better, I am sure a lot of sunglasses have similar frame style.... Buy it, pop out the lenses, and bring it to an optometrist so they can change it for a clear lense for you..

well, of course its a great idea kimkhuu but.. i've tried this before and i really dont like the 'effect' of the vintage sunglasses transformed to 'medicated' versions..
there is something at 'real' frames that makes all the difference
(of course i'm being peculiar )

great frames posted oliver
welcome to tFS and please do not forget to credit your pics with the site you reposted from.. thanks

those frames are horrible and not flattering to a womens face. it reminds me of that women who used to be in the Old Navy ads a while back (i believe she passed away)

either way the look can still be obtain with a much smaller plastic frame and not so heavy. why spend several hundred on a pair of glasses on a fad that will be over in no time.

we are not discussing strictly womens styles aniex. boys have style too

as for spending money..this style is not a fad, since i tried in vain to adapt them as accessories in my wardrobe few seasons ago..
i started with cheap tries but the effect -trust me- was ridiculous to see.
after all, a good frame is a good frame
if one gets bored with clear lenses can always turn them to sunglasses
