There have been three times where I've liked gothic style, one is when Gucci gothed stuff up with the crosses and stilettoes another was Anjelica Huston in The Addams Family and the last was Angelina Jolie as Morticia Addams at the Oscars........as grey said, gothic is almost always too 'done', it doesn't come of naturally and almost never works on those who do the all black, vinyl, tall boots, fishnets, corsets chains..........it never looks right.

But the idea of a frothy pink skirt with skull pins sounds kinda cool, not too much of an obvious theme, just a cute juxtaposition.

I like a bit of goth in my morning cereal.

*lightbulb*

I think it might be fun to dress up one night and scare the tourists in Waikiki

I really like this corset it think its pretty gorgeous, I was going to buy it last year, i adore corsets and i think this one is so cute. I think the model is gorgeous too

polka dot corset

Goth style is nice if it's done right, i think a lot of the time it boils down the make up with women, if you get it wrong it tends to just look really wrong!

I think its a hard look to get right.

^^ My point being that you don't have to go ALL the way or look tacky and cheap to have some of the style.

agree...but i think it has to come naturally...

case in point...when gwyneth tried to do 'goth' in the alexander mcqueen outfit on the red carpet...coomplete and total didaster...case of a blonde trying to be a brunette... ...

then ...as spike pointed out...there's angelina jolie...who is and always will be a little goth... and it just looks so right...!

if it's not you...then just back away from the skull and crossbones... :pirate:

Social experiment: persuaded a friend to dress full on goth so as to gauge the depth of those reacting differently to her, acting as her same old self.

People are puddles.

Found it! This site has all the best EGL magazine scans:
http://www.avantgauche.co.uk/gallery/glb13.html

A more industrial looking lolita... By the way, each Gothic group has a different title. I forget the name of this particular one, but I do remember seeing a website that defined them all. I do know that there's Sweet Lolitas (who wear mostly white), Elegant Gothic (which I like the best), Aristocratic (a more grown-up look), and a bunch more.

I very much like well-done Gothic style clothing, myself. Good goth clothing involves very rich materials and creative cutting and a lot more detail than you get in most mainstream fashion. I love the sort of Victorian + Punk aesthetic.

What I can do without is the typical Goth melodrama and attitude. If more goths just dressed crazy and listened to Industrial music, I'd squee loudly and go to a lot more Goth Night dances, but since a lot of them are overly melodramatic suckers who never outgrew teenaged angst, and get hung up on the whole "Vampyres & Darke Magick" schtik, I tend to tip-toe around the fringes of such events and people-watch until my eyes bulge.

A punky look. And softgrey, I suspect that the model is probably a guy.

Actually, what I prefer about the EGLs is that you're supposed to be sweet!

I have this issue, actually, so just for y'all I translated some of his (it is a guy, purple ) stats....

Name: Riku
Age: 22
Blood type: O (they always put this in street snaps; in Japan it's believed that your blood type says something about your personality.)
His look today is something like 'good-looking guy meets cute-style'

The rest is just questions about where he got his clothes.
