the hairy things MENS F/W 08.09

Quote:
All kinds of hairy + fuzzy things, real or not, roaming the catwalk
creating a sense of comfort
and swathing oneself full in luxury

feathers ,
feathers imitating fur
feathers imitating leather
fur,
astrakhan,
pile and plush ...
rug material... yarns sticking out of the fabric
and also velvet
We are three days away since the beginning of the fall-winter season and there are already several fur pieces around and certainly a trend that fits every fur lover´s mood, from the shaggy long haired ones, to the lavish short haired options, I wish it will carry on in women´s ready to wear aswell.

in my opinion it's much more than just fur and general
rather, it's all these hairy things
you see so many rug-like material, in addition to fur
pile fabrics
plush
whatever it is called
all over the catwalk now
(ie. Alexander Mcqueen, burberry)

all such not your typical/expected hair and fur ^^

There are indeed several interesting furry materials around this season, what do you mean by burberry, are you talking about those feathered pieces?

What I like the most so far is that all of those furs or furry materials look very masculine, it is not like the boys took their girlfriend´s fur, even with the most classic options like that mink lined vest at Gianfranco Ferré.

That´s astrakan gius , I´ve let you make all the work here, sorry!

Im amazed by how much fur we have seen on the men catwalks, at first I thought since last fall was pretty furry, we wouldn´t be seen lots of this coming season, then I thought it was going to be only a Milanese trend, but Paris has shown its share of fur aswel.

I like the hairy non animal skin side of it or the way it is striped in those jumpers but the cynical part of thinks that the fur is just being used to re-establish the luxury aspect of fashion make it less democratic , fur can't be recreated cheaply.
