Heroin chic .... ok for Haider Ackermann...
but i think the influences at Galliano is totaly different and somewhere else
... but yes you could interpret it this way...

and of course thanks everyone for the archives...
it's amazing to remind this...
all this generation is growing NOW... so that's good... i just can hope the best for all this generation (and me, of course... ... )

I find the 90s heroin chic trend rather sobering really. Not really opiate romantic at all, but rather realistic. And early 90s realism at that, so, actually, pessimistic more than realistic.

You don't have to use drugs to look like that

I'm actually a fan of the original heroin chic, for its simplicity and realism. I find the early 90's so much less fake than it is now, with our Paris Hiltons and the like. My fashion idols then were Moira Kelly and Winona Ryder.

Anyone have a good pics of 90's heroin chic?

To me, this looks like a Europeanized version of Japanese makeup. What I mean is that it probably shouldn't be called heroin chic because it's probably not the intent.

/\ well, despite it's 'drug influence' it was a major trend in 1990's style, as well as something that really was contraversial and eyeopening, not to mention inspirational for designers up until now. I think it SHOULD be discussed, and the look itself is a very strong one that is beautiful in it's own right...

Has it been mentioned that there's already a thread about "heroin chic"? I've always thought that thread was miscategorized (it's in the Etc's of modeling); it should probably be merged with this one.

The original "Heroin Chic" thread: http://www.thefashionspot.com/forums...hic-25941.html

Heroin Chic trend reminds me of Kate Moss adverts for Calvin Klein some time ago.
