Where does the nickname "soccer mom jeans" come from? I guess I'm too young to remember the time when those jeans were "in".

But I still think that with the right fit and cut high-waisted jeans can also look cool. Definitely not those mom jeans though

I love Hi-waisted jeans (as you can see by my avvy!) , Karen Walker makes a great pair, which were most likely inspired by Chloe', but still gorgeous. I plan to make some reallly soon!

Here's some from Karen Walker Summer 05 from Vogue.co.uk

And of course there's the skinny pair Kate Moss wore recently, which maybe only she can pull off but I love the look anyway! I'd post a pic but can't be bothered searching.

^ I like the outfit withthe white ones, but not the other 2. This looks much better with wide pants than in jeans I think.

I personally prefer low rise jeans, I feel more comfortable wearing them. When it comes to jeans, the high waist ones make me feel like they are cutting on my waist. Besides, the low rise ones fit me much better, specially boot cut or straight leg.

Although, I have to say I don't mind wearing high waist pants, I have a pair of black slacks that are high waist and wide leg, they are great for the office and really are flattering with some high heels.

with high waists
THEY MUST BE cut wide and must be well designed at the top , then they work really well , these jeans were all the rage in the 70s , and I have to agree they look better as pants but I think if you wanna look different from the crowd this is the look to adopt ,since everyone wears boot legs and skinny jeans. This look will explode sooner or later , and I am usually right , I predicted it for skinny jeans 3 years ago , and now that trend is on the wane ,this look will be adopted to a degree, because soo many designers are pushing for this look.

Regarding Mom Jeans: I have been around long enough!
It was basically the look here, by default, that covers your stomach after having several kids and gives you a long bum.
LOL
