at Emirates Mall, Dubaď ....

it was really fun to see those girls ... they were like 3 dress and make up all the same ...
I guess it's meant to attract people's eyes or just find a way to be different ...

their outfit was sorta normal ... but their make-up makes it all look so different.

Hijab doesn't get in the way of anything. A proud Bahraini athlete.

The head Abaya is like the most extreme/islamic types of Abayas..I don't understand how she is revealing her hair with it :/

I think its cultural rather than religousness. I am not Bahraini so I don't really understand their customs, but where I am from, women that wear it cover their hair fully and most actually cover their face when wearing that type of abbaya.

You can't be in the National Guard/Home Guard in Denmark if you're a moslem and a female, because you're not allowed to wear the hijab. I have never heard anything so insulting and discriminating for ages, because it clearly isn't in the way or hindering anything.

well in France we currently encounter such a discrimation thing ...
Our government wants to forbid the burkah ... But the recent survey (that was revealed yesterday) proved that only approx. 350 muslim women in France wear a outfit that completely cover their body and face ... Therefore, I am not sure this law will be put in action.

I think this whole thing reveal another bigger issue which is the 'non-integration' (not really liking this word) of muslim in France. We have more than 20% of muslim and they still encounter problem ... for everything (jobs etc.)

As I have more and more the chance to discover the Middle East ... It's rare I met someone who is against this outfit ... It's tradition and culture ... I don't understand where is the problem. I even met a french girl who came to work to Doha because in France she couldn't wear her hijab at work !

But maybe there are things I don't know about ... The husband and family pressure etc.

I've noticed this look becoming a trend when I was in NYC this past winter. I know it's different than a hijab, but Rick Owens is selling balaclavas in his line too. I like the overall silouhette of a hijab and think it looks pretty smart when worn with a winter jacket. I want to buy one for this winter but I haven't found the perfect one yet.

Yeah, talk about the prohibitions. Girls are not allowed to go to school with hijab in here and you say it's a muslim country...

Some hijabs that i've seen in this thread are so decorated and flashy. They don't represent the meaning of wearing hijab. But it's the way of rich Arabian women, i guess. In here women are wearing more simple but chic hijabs and they only wear it around their heads mostly. They wear coats or baggy clothes under it. Of course there are women who wear all-black-hijabs, too but they look bad.
