I like the look when in moderation. The McQueen jeans are fantastic!

I actually like the look of loose ends but I don't like the look of raggediness. So, in that case, I agree, it seems to be a waste of money! But I believe Oscar De La Renta did it so well Fall season. He used feathers and put a limit and refined look to his loosened ends.

I love this! Two years ago I bought a J Lindeberg coat that is raw on all edges (slv, hem, lapel). It has a detachable fur collar that I love, but every time I wear it w/out I get sooo many compliments.
I do this a lot on the clothes that I make for myself. Especially on collars and hems. I think if done properly, it looks very nice, not tatty. I've experimented with this technique on knits and love the way they roll at the edges (like on the collar of a polo).

Speaking of--Softie, did you try the seam ripper on camo cargos yet? I love mine, but still haven't repaired the pockets.
chris...i have to talk to you about this coat!!!...

haven't gotten the cargos yet...haven't found a pair...thanks for reminding me though...

That's the way I felt about that suit. I LOVE Oscar's stuff that you just posted right there, though! That's the kind of "undone" that I like - it's got just the right about of unfinished-ness to it, and it doesn't look like a ragged carpet. Those are gorgeous, actually.
