Dries' layerings are masterful, hands down!!! In general, I find Belgian designers often have the penchant for sensational layerings. Thanks for the wonderful overload, Mullet

I always say that layering is a case of trying too hard to merge several looks at once. There was something I saw on a box of a "The Sims 2: H&M Fashion Stuff." The look merged four items: a dress, a long-sleeve top, and blue jeans tucked into brown boots. I call it "trying too hard" while most others call it "layering." It's what I thought at first when I've seen shrugs worn over T-shirts. It's what I thought when I seen leggings under skirts and jumpers. Part of the thing I haven't really liked was wearing jeans under a dress. I know there are tunics, but I wouldn't wear jeans under a dress or a jumper. And I especially wouldn't try out wearing jeans as an accessory for my legs while also wearing the jean legs into boots like in this picture (the femme going into the fitting room):

Done right, layering can be creative and artsy. Done wrong, you've tried too hard merging mutiple styles at once... and failed.

I don't think Layering is so much of a trend as it is a way to wear your clothes- ie:waffle tees sheer and burn-out tanks, spring/summer favorites in cooler weather.

Layering will never die, but only do it if you know how to.

layering can be tough in cold climates...you end up having to shed 1/2 of your wardrobe indoors. So cute though!
