Leather Skirts
Do you 'do' leather skirts? I own a couple and I note the thread about leather pants so I thought I'd start one off about skirts.

Here are a couple I have found

Fendi ($1600) - way over priced in my opinion but a lovely item

Lafayette ($890 - still expensive but a great skirt IMO) also the model wears it with a great outfit.

Suede skirt ($280 - I'm not sure about suede skirts tbh). Good value though.

All pics from Neimans - let me know if you are a fan or if you see any decent leather skirts. So far my vote goes to the second one!

I think they can look fantastic and depending on the outfit either very edgy or elegant.
I, myself, prefer the Fendi one as it's more versatile than the second one.

it looked to me like it is hard to combine with something.it can look tacky easily with the wrong piece

Yeah, it looks tricky. But if done right, this is a unique look.

I love the fendi one... I think a leather skirt should be above the knee, close to the body with a slightly higher waist. then you can wear a loose top tucked in.

I'm a bit afraid of the range of sounds a leather skirt could make on chairs and whatnot.

Suede is better in a loose skirt because it stretches.

i have one leather skirt (a dk teal pencil w/high waist), and only wear it occasionally... when i do, it's usually with a big, drapey sweater, thick tights and knee-high flat boots in fall/winter. if i wear it with anything tight, or with heels, i feel like it's a bit over-the-top, honestly...

but it really is great for adding a little texture and interest when it's layered up.

I thought VB pulled off the leather skirt to perfection with that outfit (well, apart from the shades). I am thinking of another one and wondered whether you thought it is best to stick with black / brown or try something a little more colourful?

Thx (again!)

I really like leather skirts, but they just aren't my style.

I think Ashley Olsen wore it well here:
