I love this length but unfortunately, it really only has impact on those of a certain height. Otherwise, it really can make you look quite squat. But it really does add a certain elegance to some looks.

It's not the height that's the problem...I think you have to have very tiny ankles in order to pull this off

I think it's more your calves than your ankles

But I think you can pull it off if you find the perfect length, sometimes it's just a matter of centimeters between an unflattering and a flattering length.. and if you're calves aren't the best you can wear it below them

But I do feel like it's best to wear this with heels, you can look somewhat stumpy otherwise

^Calves too, yes, but I really feel that your legs will look like tree trunks if you don't have skinny ankles. Oh, and you're so right about that one inch that makes the difference.

I think the wider skirts can be made more wearable if they're slightly shorter in the front

I agree, I think that's what can make you look stumpy.. when it's too long in the front.. kind of like that grey Marc Jacobs in the first post
