I see this everywhere, and quite enjoy the black/grey/white fade. I just bought an ombre scarf from f21 that has the red to coral fade:

when you see the closeup of the edges ---like "dry brush"
(check the 5th page in the collection's thread)

I think the direction is going towards blurred/softened edges
rather than a full-length gradation ...(like all the way top to bottom)

i love the ombre look and i've seen it in stores. i remember it was in style like 5 years ago and i had several things that had the faded look to it. i even had purple glitter ombre jeans(flared too). lmao
