Printed / Patterned Tights F/W 08.09
Looks like this is more of a trend on the London catwalks than in NY but I figured I would start a thread since I've been thinking about this for a little while now

^^thanks for adding those MMA!!
![]() i knew i had seen some more out there and I thought I checked anna sui again but clearly i didn't look carefully enough..! ![]() i don't think this will be a huge trend or anything, because I personally think it can be a bit difficult to wear if you don't have a very strong sense of personal style that this look would fit into.. i think it will probably pop up on a few more runways but probably not too many... we shall see ![]() |

I agree ChrissyM,
I think someone would have to fit these into their style...and they would have to make sure it works. it could be difficult to pull off.....

I love the ones from emma cook!
![]() I agree it can be tricky but it should be easy to balance it out if the rest of the outfit is simple. I have only worn simple patterns like argyle and polka dots.. I feel inspired to venture out with more bold patterns now. |

i also really like the way it was done at emma cook...
...*this makes me think of the quintessential quirky british style...(which is all but gone these days)... not surprised to see more of it on the london runways than elsewhere... they have long been the leaders in terms of adventurous hosiery.. glad to see them embracing this history... and doing it quite well i might add.. ![]()

I am an ardent champion of printed tights...
![]() ![]() ![]() I collect different prints... ![]() Putting together looks to compliment them is such a wonderful challenge, rly... ChrissyM, I agree. I don't see too many individuals incorporating this into their looks. Takes a lot of thought and a keen sense of discrimination, tbh... I personally enjoy mixing them with neutral, muted, and faded tones... I also like juxtaposing them with different prints... Also in muted, neutral, or faded colors... It is all about balance. With that said... Wouldn't mind owning the 1st & 4th pr. of Miss Sixty tights... The 1st pr. of Paul Smith's... ALL the Emma Cook tights.. As her interpretation is my favorite... ![]()

i find the lacy intricate tights sort of look too sexy/expected, like fishnet stockings or something
in an outfit with lots of print like anna sui's, it's nice though i love paul smith's here unusual and flowers actually some look like tatoos ![]() |
