I think it's a trend, but not with a massive following, which is better.
I like retro prints, but only one print in a outfit.

I always have at least one 'clash print' outfit day a month - it's very refreshing and actually not that crazy looking! The more retro looking the print the better really.

i reckon it's one of those permanent trends that have been on ever since everything retro came back. a few seasons now to say the least, i think.

other than that, i'm loving 90's retro prints.

40's and 50s retro prints have been around for quite some time now..
the new direction seems to be in tiny geometric 40's designs, personally i'm not wearing any but like susie said, i find them fresh and joyful for spring.

agreed with lena, I'm loving this for the spring and summer...very fresh and fun after a dramatic winter. I'm wearing a lot of vintage printed skirts and dresses at the moment...I'll try and post pics of the fabric prints if I find the time.

the thing, though, that I find about retro prints is that in order to be relevent, they really need to actually BE retro. I've seen shops try to recreate the prints but they always lose something. the dyes and fabrics used in vintage clothes were different from the ones we use now, so naturally they're going to look different. vintage is the way to go.

^ ditto, nothing beats a real vintage original

you are quite an inspiration to me utopia, i think i will pull out my 50s skirts and wear them as soon as the weather gets a bit more 'summery'
its been unusually cold and cloudy over here, which helps in me feeling a bit 'low' maybe my old vintage printed skirts will work in putting me in the mood for spring

I'm definitely a huge fan. I especially love them when they're done up in more of a modern way so you don't like like you're heading to a time-period themed party!

I've also seen many retro prints -- I even found a cute 60s snails design tanktop at H&M. My main source of retro prints is mainly at H&M, sometimes in small shops in Berlin. I definetely agree that real vintage is the way to go though, if you can find it
