it seems that equestrian riding apparel has really pushed into the mainstream and taken a leap into the personal style of many not riding horses. I can actually go from the barn in my breeches and tall boots to the market and get looks of approval, who would have thought...

there is so much crossover going on, I would love to see pictures of how others have interpreted it into their own style.

Riding gear for casual clothes? Well only as long as we don't have to revive the cowgirl/Western trend, then I'm all in for it. I usually dislike any use of tucking jeans or pants into boots unless actually riding or doing ranch work (or walking around in inclement ground conditions). Looks tacky if one just pretends to be some cowgirl. I'm sure the relatively low heels mean more comfort for ladies wearing these. I usually like boots and booties that don't have laces (my own preference). Should look good on everything ranging from jeans to gaucho pants to cropped pants. Just leave the country western bullcrap in the grave.

i think it should just be anything that applies...
cause there is SO much....
and it's not just this season ...you know?....

I hear ya. I remember once coming home from a show[I forgot to take off my boots,] I stopped at Bloomingdales to pick up something and some woman asked me where I had gotten my tall boots.

I still get the stares at some places, but less than before

I've seen ladies with riding pants and boots around NYC lately. I doubt they're coming from the stables! I love the look! It's so classic.

This is part of my wardrobe and I love it... riding boots are so sleek and sexy.

I also love jodhpurs which I love to wear in a laid back way...

I love gold buttons on jackets little blazers, I have one in navy from Ralph Lauren. Blazers are actually a staple in my wardrobe.

I incorporate all these things in my wardrobe, but I don't look like I come straight from riding classes... I also don't do preppy (unless I have too) so I wear it in a different way than that. I see the items as very classic.

I mean, for riding clothing, the best place for authentic jods and breeches are www.doversaddlery.com, with the best brand being Tailored Sportsman.

For custom boots, the best are Vogels [vogel.com] and Der-Dau [derdau.com] I buy all my boots from Der-Dau. When Madonna did the cover and spread in W a few years ago, Der-Dau did all the custom boots and half chaps. They specialize in exotic skins with their boots, as well as the classics. I have a pair of half chaps from them that are black leather with a pink ostrich trim.

As far as for fashion though, its best to do with a jod from Ralph Lauren or another designer, so it doesn't look like you came straight off the horse. Vogel and Der-Dau, however, do make fashion boots which are featured in all the magazines.

Judging on how you dress up with this, you can either have a very casual look or a somewhat classy look. Jeans don't usually classify as anything classy. The jacket from Post #5 is VERY classy. It's probably a classy look you can have while feeling right at home in your favorite jeans. Most of you know I dislike jeans into boots. Well, I noted that equestrian use is one of the main criteria as to what pulling off this look should be. Surely these super-low heel boots (called riding boots, right?) could make any lady seem ready to do some ranch work or compete in the Kentucky Derby. Style like this is probably suited for colder times like now. It's a nice way to be fashionable this time of year. Why not give it a shot?

I received a gift of Ariat Maestros. Since they are over five hundred dollars, I felt bad only wearing them once and a while.



So I started wearing them in everyday outfits. I thought people would stare at me, but I get complements all the time. It’s about how you carry yourself.

kah, gorgeous boots!!! and I know they have a special footbed that is made for wearing all day. it doesn't surprise me you get complimented on these the lines of the boot are so crisp. please post credits so we know where there came from.
