Rompers and pinafores
I saw in US Weekly that Lohan snagged up an uber cute Jumpre from Diavolina in Beverly Hills. It is really cute! I can see this becoming a big trend.

Can everyone post any jumpers they've seen lately, i want one!!

This is the only one I could find.

Marc by Marc Jacobs had one in this season's spring collectin, though it was cropped versus shorts. Rachel Pally has a cute strapless jumper with shorts that is plain in her usual fabric - it was really cute. I also think C Ronson may have done something like this, I can't recall. Check www.satineboutique.com too - they always have unusual but hip stuff.

I believe the more universal term is romper (for members from many parts of the world, a 'jumper' is a sweater)

sometimes there are pictures of kids in vintage rompers at http://www.thecobrasnake.com/. I sort of see this as a hipster trend that is going to go mainstream since lohan wore them. they're really easy to find at thrift stores, by the way. last night alone I saw about 10.
I don't like them...somehow there is just too much skin on parade, and there's a slightly skanky 'late 1970's housewife' look to it which makes me sort of cringe.

I don't like them either. Besides they make short people look even shorter.

i can't say i am a fan, i can honestly feel this being just another stupid FAD that will only last until the end of summer. Although if they were with pants or jumpsuits (there is another thread on this) instead of the shorts. . i would be all for it

What I never understood about jumpsuits was how inefficient they are. I mean, that you have to take off your whole shirt to pee.

a romper is like a jumpsuit, only with shorts. jumpsuits usually have long legs.

Thank you. In the US, romper is the term used for children's clothing.

jumpers means blouses & knits so we leave the topic title as it is until someone finds a better word/name* for this DP, thanks for your understanding
*you can always PM the teams of our regional mods when you decide what they are called

*on topic, those where around in euuuuropppe maybe two summers ago, havent seen any recently, maybe in vacation spots, but certainly not in town, not even at nightclubing (apart from the gogo girls who's been wearing them as part of their act)

As in, Luella, spring 2004?...

I like them in most cases (that is, if they indeed resemble the above ), I'd only draw the line at denim...
