In some ways here, the grunge style never died; In Seattle, people still dress bad (not too many flannel shirts wearers left, though) and wear black clunky boots, but it's more about not really caring about how you're dressed;

But then again, I can say grunge has evolved, as implied in previous posts. To me, grunge was like the anti-trend. Whatever opposite the trend is now.

Or do you think it goes with the music scene, which has changed a lot since Nirvana days?

^^ I'll say that the alternative music scene hasnt changed that much (I saw the Melvins live some month ago and they, the fathers of grungemusic hasnt changed at all), is just that you don't see it on MTV anymore..

I'm glad you agree! But I did mean "bobo", not boho.

BTW, was it Shonen Knife that was on Kill Bill or another all girl Japanese band? They were great! Now that I think about it I'm pretty sure it was another band but the name is on the tip of my tongue! I can't remember it!

Grunge trends

Teen actress MARY-KATE OLSEN has been declared a fashion icon by the NEW YORK TIMES for the "homeless" look she's adopted since becoming a university student.

The 18-year-old entrepreneur, twin sister of ASHLEY OLSEN, has attracted much attention for her less than clean-cut wardrobe since moving from Los Angeles to attend New York University last year (04).

And her image makeover, attacked by a number of fashion critics, has earned her a special nod.

Stylist KAREN BERENSON says, "The Olsens are the real thing. (Mary-Kate) makes skinny girls in baggy clothes look cool."

I quite like the look...from designer to rags...
