Oh man.... I HAD to buy these last year....
Because, I live in a place where we get a ton of snow in the winter.
I was seriously depressed that I spent money on them. They're just sooo ugly.
But they served their purpose in keeping my feet warm walking through snow.
I dread the day when I'll have to pull them out of my closet again.
Dear god, those are hideous! I can remember wearing my mothers pair when I was younger when I had to go outside into the snow, sure they were warm, they didn't very pretty! Can't we just have function and beauty?
I have them, but I haven't worn them yet because it isn't snowy yet. Last winter I realized I had no practical boots for snowy, icy, freezing, wet weather. Only fashiony leather boots and Hunter wellies for wet weather. But Hunters turn my toes to icicles even with the fleecy socks if it is anything below 40 degrees F.
I decided I wanted Sorel Caribous b/c they look so classic. Classic as in practical and timeless, like Bass loafers or "duck boots" or that sort of thing, not classic as in black ballet flats or a strand of pearls. They were sold out of my size everywhere though so I had to wait until this fall to buy them. Even if it doesn't get cold and snowy enough to wear them this winter (in Indianapolis) I know they will wearable forever. I think they were never a fashionable item, so they can never go out of style. They are utilitarian to me. I like them. I wouldn't want to wear them in public though unless it was really a blizzard and I needed to.

i'm so getting a pair, there is no way I'm going to let another winter come and have my pants dragging and salt stained. They seem to be making them quite trendy now - when I saw them in Aritzia I thought, oh no, but whatever, they're still very practical and provide a cute finish to the winter look, imo
these bring back horrible memories of hauling wood into the house in 10 degree weather during a Northern Michigan winter. no thanks. god speed to those that try them out as a fashion item. i'll pass though
After the snow storm we had, I'm considering getting these. Don't want to spend the next 3 months with freezing toes and ruining my "proper" shoes.
I don't know if it's the right thread but I'd like to have some feedback on them. Thanks in advance!
That's exactly why I got them. No practical shoes for winter weather and normal or cute shoes are ridiculous if you're ruining them and your feet are freezing and slipping on ice.
I just started wearing mine for the first time last week since we are having snow and single digit temps now. THey are sooooo cozy and the tread is good and tough. THey are a little big and clunky, but not too heavy. I have caribous.
Oh, and the weird thing is some people have commented that they think they're cute. go figure.

We have just had two weeks of weather from hell......and my Sorel boots have been a godsend. They really don't look chic.....but they are so unbelievably warm, dry and just, totally appropriate.
