i'm afraid velvet its not a trend for ss06 but if the colour is 'poetic' >see dusty or uber pale range< and it firs your mood/wardrobe, why not?

i strongly believe that fashion 'rules' as we knew them are a thing of the past

well, I do wear my chocolate blazer at night time... I guess it depends on the weight and the cut? I'm always hesitant.

well I don't think fashion rules are a thing of the past...I think they're good guidelines..but once you develop your own personal style and you know yourself what works for you and etc. then you possess the power to break and bend all those rules.

i've worn a heavy cardigan during the summer
during a fairly warm summer
and i was walking outside

i got weird looks, but oh well...
i find it would be pretty amazing to see someone wearing wool or velvet or leather (or be all decked out in black) in the heat and be comfortable!

^ what a revolutionary attitude, i like this (as a forward esthetic)

i'm afraid i can't wear 'heavy' during summer, it's too hot over here and somehow it doesnt fit the 'summer scenery'

silk velvet chiffon qualities can be as light as muslin, so in light colours or black light silk 'summer velvet' could somehow work if it's translated to something 'naked'

Velvet for hot summer days? No thanks.

Velvet for fun summer nights? Why not? You'll stand out for sure!

perhaps esp a bit of "burn-out" velvet might work for summer ...

velvet is a terrible idea here during the summer-- temperatures reach 100+ degrees, with 99% humidity...

i tried it once a couple years ago, i was a baked potato by the end of the day
