Swimwear trend : 50's vibe

Source: The Fashion Time Magazine
This season we have a new alternative for bikinis. Many designers have been inspired by the 1950’s style of bathing suits, and now, one-piece swimwear is making a comeback this summer.

From bandeau-shaped to great sporty styles, these swimsuits embody old world Hollywood glamour. The flattering fifties swimsuit silhouette and modern touches are a perfect blend of old and new.

<3 Abaeté...

I really like this, I've always wanted to have a 'retro' suit. Now I purchased some fabric a few days ago and I'm just waiting to see how I'll get it made. But it's a gorgeous trend! I love how the one-pieces look so elegant.

^ Cute!
I love the 4th, 5th, 7th, & 8th suits...
The 4th & 5th suits esp., since they seems as if they would be very forgiving...
Thanks for posting..

cute...VS did one, but the fit wasn't very good. this goes back to when the swimsuit was tailored....and it's taking more for designers to make something that fits...instead of 3 triangles to cover THOSE 3 areas like most seasons...i love this trend!

Agent Provocateur made an amazing one last year , Rachel Bilson wore it for a GQ shoot recently I think.

Does anyone know of any reasonably priced swimsuits like this? The high waisted bikinis seem like they would be so flattering!

I adore 50's style swimsuits and have been wearing them for several years. I always feel so elegant and glamourous at the pool or beach and it's nice not to have to worry about things popping out all the time. Even though 50's style suits cover more skin, I actually feel sexier in them than other styles. Now that they're coming in style, it will be nice to have more options for new ones as they can be difficult to find.

i think i posted just a one-piece bathing suit
rather than 50s style suit

a 50s style..
it's one with the halter neck, no?
and with "short shorts"

i agree it's kind of sexier because it sort of accentuates the curves
like what you call those..girdles.. that are elastic and are supposed to firm up the body
rather than a bikini which just cuts the body up
