^It will definitely cleanse the fashion palate after the boho trend of last S/S

If you really want to know the trends, why don't check it on www.wgsn.com or a site like that..?

^The nice part about going to a fashion school is getting a free password to all the big fashion sites.

Oh gosh, I hate where fashion is going.

I think ankle length skirts are going to make a comeback (straight ones, not prarie style). I loved them back in the day but now...not so much.

I'd be glad to say bye-bye to the ultra-feminine frilly look - I'm buying clothes that look like cute girls' school uniforms in neutrals, eg. box-pleated jumpers. More texture than prints for me, but I still like the abstracts, eg. geometric patterns and hand scribbled lines. Hope I'm betting right.

Who is it that decides the future trends?
There is definitely always more than one main trend in a year, so I was thinking it's maybe several communities of textile companies around the world (or maybe just Europe).

It's interesting my textiles teachers also know about some of these trends Lena's mentioned, although our school is maybe more art/craft-based than fashion-based.

Lena, since you mention only tones, do you mean prints will be monochrome?

Sooo happy about the layering! Wish the lacey look would die.

layering! oh no...it'll be hard to pull it off with all the weather over here...
32 degrees celsius all year round

but still, i'm all for anything beyond last year's interpretation of boho.
it's been a good year so far in 06; i hope it stays that way, personally.

Just wondering, do you guys think 50's and 60's are going to be part of S/S '07? I kind of got that impression from some of the pictures I've seen, but I'm not really good at that whole forecasting thing. I just kind of thought with all of the apron style pinafore dresses, and the skinny pants, and this beatnik thing, that maybe it'll hit the mainstream next Spring.

Hope so! It's definately not big where I am yet...I'd like to see the apron dresses over the skinny jeans with a stacked heel. Yum!

Oooh...and I'm really feeling plastic jewelry right now. Maybe the wooden, bo-ho beads will fade a little by next S/S?

^^ i dunno...all of those things are as mainstream as you could ask them to be
...like Lena said, it's very much by way of the 90's, so i am thinking pants may become wider, but skinny and wide are two silhouettes that have definitely been dominating fashion for the last couple of years..

..i hope things will become looser and away from the body, i think the main thing right now is to educate people what looks good on them

i mean..skinny jeans-not for everyone!
