Tucking shirts in only at the front

I see a trend with men tucking their shirts in at the front. It's clearly meant to show of the design of the belt.

If I tried this back in my grade school days (we had uniforms), I'd more than likely get punished or told to tuck it in. I don't like this look. It probably helps if you're just trying to show off your belt buckle with this look, but other than this, it's a fail waiting to happen.

i actually really like this look especially on men. although only on certain types of men sometimes it can look a bit... tacky and sloppy

I like this but it has to be done well. It needs to look effortless.

I do this myself as well (I'm female) with loose tshirts or shirts, tucked into jeans (ie loose white boyfriend style shirt tucked casually into fitted jeans, boots and belted) or into waisted skirts, etc.

I think it's been happening for a while, especially with guys.

I have done this myself (I'm female). I also do what the person above me does with the whole shirt and then lifting up my arms. It's become kind of a habit thing now.

I do this from time to time with loose tops (usually a simple tee), tucked into a straight leg jean and add a belt. Something you'd have to be careful about without it looking too sloppy, but I love how you can feature the belt and sort has an effortless feel to it.

Of the female type...

I think this looks really sexy on certain men and it looks good on some girls too. I agree with ElleLesley that it can look messy or too sloppy if your not careful. Plus, you want too look effortless and not like your trying too hard.

FYI: The girl in post #11 is wearing a Charles Anastase coat.

It's from The Sartorialist.

I like this trend, but it never works for me. When I was little Kristy, the boss of the Baby Sitters Club from 'The Baby Sitters Club Movie' did it. I wanted to be just like her.
