Victorian & Edwardian S/S 06
I like the idea of individual threads so we can explore each theme in-depth

Just wanted to note that alongside the minimalism, the Victorian/Edwardian influence continues ... I've noticed lots of lace ...

(style.com)

Proenza Schouler did this best I thought ...

romantic victorian/edwardian and 'turn of the century' styles continue strongly from the fw05.06 season (Rochas, YSL, etc)

as a matter of fact, some designers like namely Libertine took this trend far too seriously
even though i personally prefer the minimalism 'revisit' i like the tenderness of victorian influences, it's a good antidote to the pared down minimalism.
thanks for the topic fashionista-ta..

as for the separate s.s.06 threads issue, kindly check my reply here http://www.thefashionspot.com/forums...6&postcount=21

did they ever,Lena and Chanel!

It's an okay look...as long as it's played with a bit and re-interpreted in a fresh way. I can say this because Victoriana has long been an influence to me...before it was even such a big thing. As with my handmad corsages and neck pieces,I always made that influence look no to obvious.

I think you can keep it fresh by wearing an obviously victorian/edwardian piece with something completely modern.

this is best done as a detail / or juxtaposed w/smthn v.fresh + modern
otherwise you risk looking costumey & like a caricature . .

Great trendspotting guys!

**And this is for everyone: please hold yourself to the title of the thread. If a thread says S/S 06, please do not post pictures of other seasons in it. Thanks **
