i was watching a Sex and the City episode the other night and I saw Carrie (SJP's character in case you guys didn't know!) :P wearing a lovely dress which was backless but she was wearing a bra with it - so the bra was revealed from the back... it's the episode where Big has heart surgery and she visits him in the hospital and she just can't stop sobbing

I was also perusing through the candid photos thread on the Star Style board and saw Jessica Simpson do the same...

what do you guys think of this? personally, I wouldn't do this. I don't mind a strap appearing or some of the bra being revealed from the front (as long as it's not done in a tacky fashion) but from the back!

I don't mind if the straps on the shoulders are appearing -naturally bra+shirt colors must be in harmony- but wearing a backless dress with a visible bra is more than ugly.

I like it. There is a good and a bag way to wear everything! a wrong and right way to wear clothes. You just have to figure out what works best for U.I'd say go for it.

I think its ok if its a beautiful bra & it integrates with the outfit. what difference does it make if its a bra strap showing rather than any other piece of fabric. Its not like you have a breast hanging out!

I like it. It's a bit risque and kinda difficult to pull off. But if the bra goes with the outfit, than it's cool. Tacky? Yes, but in a cool way.

The one episode where she goes to the "couple" party with the russian.. she was wearing this BEAUTIFUL dress... it was backless and a light green if I remember with beaded detailing..... she totally ruined it by wearing a black bra and letting it show in the back.. I know this was a styling decision, but if I couldn't find a proper bra, I'd let the girls hang free....

So dumb.

I have never seen it on the good way. You should post pics to show me it can be nice too.
I saw this visible bra style only on really tacky women and mostly on prostitutes.

But why does it have to be sitting that close to the neck?

Sorry, I'm not savvy with posting pictures and I couldn't copy this picture that I saw on the Triumph website. But if you are patient, go to http://www.triumph.com/index.php
select Asia, then Hong Kong
click on "Fashion style", and you will see the "Party Bras" (LOL)
I saw an ad for these in a Hong Kong magazine but don't have it anymore.

The bras are crisscrossed on the back and sides. They don't at all look like regular bras and are meant to be seen. They were worn with drapey backless dresses in the ad.

The Triumph one might actually look cool, because it looks like just some random ribbons as part of an outfit. That's probabaly the look that they were going for too.

ok you're right it doesn't look so bad in that shot but I doubt I'll be sporting this look. The way it's worn in that ad looks far better than the way Carrie and Jessica Simpson have theirs...
