What is the "scene" style all about? It interests me. Its kind of more personalized and creative... Except I've never seen any of these people in the States... Any info would be helpful. I saw the other thread with pics already.
What i call scene people are more like sudo-punk/pop punk/emo types. The people in the scene style thread are more what i refer to as hipsters or artsy hipsters

wow, boulder must be a REALLY small town if you've never experienced any type of subculture, no goths, skaters, punks? the scene kids are really just these kids, grown up and now "artsy".
Go read the Hipster's Handbook. It makes fun of it more than explains it, but you'll get the idea. Okay, it's like this to me. It's a subculture. In the 60s you had the Mods. In the 70s you had the Glam/Ziggy Stardust kids. In the 80s there was the Punk/New Wave look. In the early 90s there was the 'grunge' look. A lot of it has to do with music. There are soooo many different types of hipsters. We should start a thread outlining them all!
As far as style goes, the perfect example is Cobrasnake. Toni&Guy haircuts, lots of black and vintage looks. The newwave eighties look is big with hipsters. Black and white stripes. It's hard to explain. Go to Williamsburg Brooklyn. It's the breeding grounds. All these people look like they are in costume basically, or in bands. The Strokes are hipsters, the Bravery are wannabes (they totally dress like hipsters). I know Boulder has them, because Boulder is the Equivilent to Austin, where I live.

You have no idea.
Too bad. Creative people make me happy (and inspire me)! Maybe I need to move.
I like hipster style. I just don't like some of their personalities..(excessive swearing, using weird slang, being overly sarcastic, discussing philosophy like they're pros..) of course not all are like this.
+ I think hipsters shouldn't have massive parties together because they end up all looking the same. But I can see how they would stand out against the usual faces on the street.
