Alexa Chung last night proved exactly why hit T4 show Popworld has been cancelled.

The plummy TV presenter took to the stage at the Diesel U Music launch party at the Cuckoo Club to announce the nominees for the forthcoming event. Unluckily for Alexa, the audience were far more interested in the free booze than hearing her read from a card. As the boos and jeers escalated the pretty star moaned to the crowd: “Do you realise how hard this is?”

Eventually Alexa, who was watched by Pixie Geldof and Jackson Scott, threw her cards down and left the stage. An onlooker tells theBuzz: “Everyone in the audience was cringing at how bad Alexa was. We could barely hear her and when people started heckling she got really upset.”
