How Do I Look

"Luckily, I hardly get a chance to look in the mirror when I first wake up, as I'm usually being bundled into the back of a car to get cart me off to work. If I were given the chance, I'd focus on my eyes, to see just how bloodshot they were and gauge how much more sleep I actually needed. Then again, I can't see a thing without my contacts.
I'm generally very happy with how I look. People often think I'm Brazilian when they meet me, which always baffles me as surely if that were the case I'd have a huge pair of breasts and a marvellously high, pert bottom? In fact the confusion stems from the fact that my dad is three-quarters Chinese and looks that way, where as my mum has blue eyes with blonde hair. My brothers are really dark and look far more like my dad, whereas I'm more like my mum, minus the bleach (sorry mum, but you're not fooling anyone).

Being a model was quite a strange thing for me and not necessarily that pleasant an experience, as I'm just not body-conscious and felt uncomfortable making money based on my appearance. I'm naturally a tomboy and I'm not that vain. You are pushed to dissect the way you look in certain clothes and at different angles, which I was never that cool with. There is obviously a certain unspoken pressure to stay around a size six or eight, but what was more annoying was the tight, sexy clothes. That just isn't my style.
Having grown up in the country it was all about jodhpurs, my brothers' old jumpers, and mucking-out boots. My mum's into really bold, bright patterns and I do remember a pair of garish yellow culottes - an item of clothing that should be brought back immediately - and these were a definite school-disco favourite. I never really adopted a beauty regime to speak of - unless you count passing out in my makeup, scrubbing it off the following morning with soap, and hoping my makeup artist can sort something out. But I can proudly state that I do moisturise a lot.
Fashion has always interested me. In fact there was a time when I wanted to be a fashion journalist; I remember going to the careers-advisor at school and asking how to acheive this, and there really wasn't a lot of sound advice forthcoming.
My real obsession is smock dresses. My friends take the piss out of me for never wearing anything else. But I hope to mature with a classic look like Chanel. Then again, I fancy the idea of becoming a little batty when I'm older. Perhaps I could wear loads of heavy, beaded jewellery, like a pottery teacher. Then i'd also have an excuse to wear the smock dresses. Amazing."
