Fantastic news! I can't wait to see this!!

Catwoman is returning to the big screen, and Anne Hathaway is putting on the claws. Christopher Nolan announced in a statement Tuesday that Hathaway will join Tom Hardy and Christian Bale in his latest 'Batman' film, 'The Dark Knight Rises,' according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story," Nolan said.

She looked really beautiful at the GG, that dress was perfect on her and I loved how her hair looked. Very interesting news that she will play Cat Woman.

I disagree. In the hands of another director I would be worried, but it's Christopher Nolan. I think he will make it work. Plus, I don't think they're going to show the back-story of when she becomes Catwoman, because it's been done a thousand times already. The film will probably start and she's already Catwoman...we just won't know it.

@Chloe24: Agreed. The look was perfect. I was relieved, because many of her recent looks have been questionable.

I know people are doubting her, but doesn't that always happen at first? Look at the response Andrew Garfield got when he was first announced as Spiderman (mainly from losers who had never seen him in anything) and the of course, the most obvious example, Heath Ledger. I can see her pulling off the shy Selina and sexy Catwoman. She has it in her.

Personally, I kind of wanted Maggie Gyllenhaal to 'come back' as Catwoman. Sounds stupid, but it would've been cool.

Sigh. I adore Anne but...I jut dont see it. Just when I thought Christopher Nolan had stopped miscasting his female characters. I hope they prove me wrong.

I think Anne is a one of the most talented actresses out there. With her skill and Nolan's direction, I don't doubt that she'll make an great Catwoman. Just give her a chance, I'm sure she'll surprise some people.

Oh my god

. She's not my choice for Selina (Eva Green and Emily Blunt were my faves) but the movie hasn't started principal photography so I'll reserve judgement.

Note that they only said Selina Kyle and not catwoman.
