Blake Lively looks gorgeous in a lace dress while attending the unveiling of Van Cleef & Arpels‘ redesigned Fifth Avenue Flagship Maison on Tuesday evening (December 10) in New York City.

I'm thinking the dress might be Marchesa? She looks stunning here, her hair is gorge!

So funny to see Blair and Serena at the top of the page, it feels like 2007! I really like her hair here, not quite sure about the dress. The pictures with the fur give me a trophy wife vibe, I think it's the way she's posing I like her hair this darker blonde though!

FYI: Blake is wearing Gucci shoes and Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry. Dita is wearing a Carolina Herrera dress, Christian Louboutin shoes, a Swarovski handbag, and Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry.

I'm usually not a fan of Marchesa, but the truth is that she always wears the best pieces! Love this look on her ( the earrings are TDF!)

What is your fragrance philosophy?
My whole life I would wear a different fragrance for different seasons and occasions. In the summer, you want to wear florals and in the winter you want something heavier and more woodsy and leathery. The thing that I missed about always changing my fragrance—because I’m very picky, as well—is that I was lacking that power fragrance has—like the smell of my mom when I haven’t been around her, or my sister. There’s such an overwhelming emotional connection that you feel. By always changing fragrance, I didn’t have that signature. I didn’t have that superpower. Gucci Première really does have that. It has the bergamot, the citrus, the floral, the wood, and the leather. It hits all the notes that really feel like me, at any time or place. That’s pretty cool to have that and I think it's a big feat because I’m very picky. They didn’t cater the fragrance to me, but they just made this amazing scent that I happen to like.
What would you say is your go-to holiday beauty look?
I don’t really have a go-to look. I think there’s something about the holidays, they’re so festive, that allows you to really play and be much more experimental. I wear a lot more glitter around the holidays so I’m always wearing different glitter nail polish or fun metallic eye shadow. It’s the holidays—everything is more twinkly and celebratory.
Do you have a beauty look that you would never attempt?
I hate those types of questions because I think that limits people. Whatever is you, is awesome. There are looks that I see on other people that I think would look horrible on me, but I think if somebody has the courage to be really daring and try something outlandish, then more power to them. That’s just encouraging and inspiring. When I see someone like that, I just wish I had their bravery. People sometimes shut other people down for wearing a certain outfit that seems too much, or having a certain beauty look that’s too much. Who’s to say? It’s all a version of self-expression.
Do you have any beauty icons?
I have tons of beauty icons, from women now to women of time’s past: Jean Seberg, Katherine Hepburn, Diane Keaton—like come on, I see pictures of her now and she’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen—and my mom.
What is the best beauty advice you’ve ever been given?
I don’t know if it’s specific advice I’ve been given or just looking up to the icons I’ve had, from my sister to my mom to the women that I’ve mentioned. You can’t really go wrong as long as you’re true to yourself. I think that’s where it gets tricky, when people are trying to fit into a certain mold. It always looks wrong. Whether it’s fashion or beauty, if you’re not comfortable wearing it, you’re not wearing it with confidence and then the whole thing is shot. Whatever it is, if you wear it with confidence, then you look great. It’s really meant to be a reflection of yourself and who you are.
Let’s talk a little bit about hair. Yours has become a signature. Do you have any secrets that you’d be willing to share?
My hair changes depending on where I am in the world and the different environments and climates. My hair can get kind of frizzy and big, so I leave in a hair mask, rather than rinsing it out all the way. That’s been a pretty good tip. Something that my mom taught me, which is pretty cool, is that when you shampoo your hair you’re just trying to get the oil out of the roots, not out of the ends. When you over-clean your ends then you’re damaging them because they need the oil. What she would always do is put coconut oil on the ends of her hair before she would shower. So, when she would shampoo it wouldn’t make her hair overly astringent.
Do you have a go-to nighttime hair look? Like if you’re on the go but have an event or a dinner?
My go-to nighttime hair look is just my daytime hair look. It kind of just carries over. If you’re in a pinch, you can slick back your hair in a tight ponytail. Take the ponytail and braid it, kind of haphazardly, so that it’s not just three pieces of hair. You should take random chunks, braid it, and twist it. It’s a more interesting nighttime look that takes about 12 seconds.
Do you have an ideal holiday or New Year Eve’s?
I just like to be with my family. As long as I can eat baked goods with my family and listen to Bing Crosby—I’m happy.
How do you feel about working with hair and makeup artists versus DIY?
The people that I work with, including hair and makeup artists, know me really well. When I find people that I like, I like to stay with them because I like their personalities. I always trust them. They know what I like, so they lean towards that. They’re also so creative that if they ever have a wild idea, I’d go for it. I tend to like to make my statements more in fashion than in beauty, because what I normally respond to is when someone looks really effortless and deconstructed, beauty-wise, and they’re fashion is really grand. Someone like Kate Moss is a great example. She’ll wear this elaborate outfit, yet her hair and makeup is very deconstructed. Sarah Jessica Parker is somebody who is more clean, slick, and fresh with her beauty and her wardrobe choices are so daring and exciting.
Speaking of style, what have you been drawn to this season?
I don’t know! I’ve done a lot more home shopping than I have fashion shopping. I could school someone in rugs right now, or LED lighting versus incandescent lighting. I’ve been putting all my efforts towards the fashion of home. It’s been interesting because the taste that I have in fashion, applies to my home. When I want a rug, I realize that I’m just describing a sweater that I have upstairs and I just go and grab that. It’s kind of dressing my apartment, more than myself.

Ehhh, I think I'd stop using my Nespesso machine if they replaced George with her. I do enjoy her love of hats though.
