i definitely agree with this. i think she is going through what most girls this age (my age) are going through in terms of finding her own style. i forget where i read this but one time I read a piece where her style was praised as "always on-trend." thats all well and good for setting trends but it definitely doesn't equal Style, which might be why, i would guess, that some people are so offended by her hype as a style icon. for most people style takes time to cultivate and while i do think that she is getting closer and closer to finding her own, particularly when it comes to street style, she is still pretty over-the-top when it comes to piling on every single trend (in real life, a "fashion victim"..but for a rich celebrity, a "style icon").

i do find her red carpet looks interesting, and sexy (that's why i follow this thread!) but i can see how she can come across as "tacky" though. and i think it has to do with the elegant/jet-setting fashionista/serious actress persona that her team tries to conjure up. that persona does not mesh with the way she usually presents herself, so we're not buying it. as many people on the board have pointed out, she's more of the happy-go-lucky, cute, fun-loving type of girl. the way she usually presents herself DOES (to me, at least) mesh with this image. a lot of regular girls out there her age DO dress as she does, and no one is calling them tacky (for that reason alone at least). but then none of them are claiming to be fashion icons/refined jet setters, so if i were to give her any advice as an outsider, she should try and reconcile the two and own her personality more.

I love the braided hair on the GG set; it looks lovely like that. And the dress ain't too shabby either; for once it isn't over-accessorised.

Not super keen on the benefit look: to me it doesn't suit her easy style. Can't see how she "fits" Chanel. She's much more Chloe to me. But I guess a girl isn't going to turn down Chanel, Lol!!
