LOVE the satin coat. Not what she usually goes for in terms of volume and fabric but still so Daphne.

Also in the collage from the Russian mag above, I adore all the outfits apart from the contacts/armadillo shoes/Nars one. She's still my style icon!

Daphne Guinness' Hermès Sac Paris-Bombay
By Man Snob Jim on April 23, 2010 3:00 PM

At Wednesday night's Barneys Trunk-a-Palooza, where designers ranging from Richard Chai and Vena Cava to Shipley & Halmos and Rag & Bone turned out to pre-sell their fall goods, I nearly didn't recognize my friend Daphne Guinness. Hanging by the Alexander Wang area next to a custom-built tent with all-black bean cushions, Guinness, at first I thought, was wearing flats! Turns out she was simply resting her heel-less Antonio Berardi shoes on the ground (who knew?). Resting beside her was her Hermès Sac Paris-Bombay. I've always eyed her simple black box calf Hermès bag with the natural lining--primarily because it's not the expected Kelly or Birkin you'd think someone of her status would tote. "It's too expected," she laughed when I asked her about it. "I buy things that speak to me, not to be a show off." She then set her bag on the floor to let me snap a bird's eye-shot looking into her bag! Inside are the usual contents of a woman's bag (while she's very organized, alas there no diamonds or rubies or Lanvin flats--I checked), but she clearly loves the Sac Paris-Bombay. This past February, she sported a white version to the Calvin Klein Collection show--both in the 37cm length. A true class act!

Hermès Sac Paris-Bombay, $6,200, available at Hermès stores nationwide

Daphne's film for scent in collaboration with Dover Street Market earns prestigious Webby nomination

Last year, Daphne Guinness not only launched her first scent, MNEMOSYNE, in collaboration with Comme des Garcons, she also directed a film to go with it. Rightly, Daphne points out that it’s not a promo ad for the perfume, but a stand-alone art piece. It features no logos and names and is merely "inspired by the essence of the scent". In collaboration with All Day Everyday, Daphne co-directed a three-minute long film with David Parker, full of subtle colours, floral references and fluid movements. All the hard work appears to have paid off; not only was the perfume a hit in Dover Street Market, but MNEMOSYNE has also been nominated for a Webby Award in the 'Experimental' category. As a nominee for a Webby Award, MNEMOSYNE is also eligible to win a People's Voice Award so you have a chance to make your voice heard. Voting is open until 29 April and the winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in New York City on 14 June.

^ You're welcome! I'm always surprised at how the social/jet set/fashion crowd are so into Daphne, but the general public, even the celeb press, seems to not follow her at all...

Daphne at a showing of a documentary about Last Year at Marienbad... (This totally fits because the main character's wardrobe seems to be her biggest influence stylewise, doesn't it?)

I wonder if Daphne would pick up any of the items being auctioned from Issy's estate this fall.
..I suppose that would be a little weird since they were so close, but if anyone can give them another life it would be her

Her daughter tends not to wear any of Daphne’s clothes – “I’ve said borrow whatever you like. But she prefers Topshop.”
O_O

That's like having filet mignon as an option and choosing to eat Burger King.
