I'm fairly certain that coat isn't Chanel - the Chanel one was the metallic one that she was wearing in the pilot on the steps of the Met (when she gets brushed off by Blair).

It's meant to be a brand called Min-K?

can she pleeease cover up for one episode? Even for one scene?

i would be more shocked by the skanky "lingerie in public" look if her usual attire wasn't exactly like that anyway.

well isn't that supposed to be the point of the last scene? She idolizes the sort of hippie/free love movement. I don't find her dressing that terrible to be honest.

That's what I have been thinking too. Serena wore two coats and one of them was Chanel. I believe that it's the other one which is Chanel, but I think a lot of people are mixing up the coats. I've noticed a lot of people calling the coat above Chanel, but I don't think it is.

I did understand that the reason why S went out in her nightslip was to demonstrate how she the carefree/hippie person whom Blair claimed that she wasn't. Nevertheless, while it makes sense for her to wander around NY in the slip this time, it still doesn't make sense all the other times where she either greats people in her livingroom wearing a tiny slip, or attends an interview with the Dean of Yale wearing a very, very inappropriately low-cut blouse. Basically, Serena's wardrobe in S2 is skanky, more skanky and most skanky. I miss her bohemian/I-just-threw-this-on look. I love Blair's style, but I also saw a lot of stuff, I liked in Serena's last year. This season, Serena's wardobe is turning me off.

and don't forget the jeans! that really bothered me. when i was going for college interviews and grad school interviews, the proper attire for girls was a conservative dress or a suit. wearing jeans and a low-cut blouse just screams unprofessional; and the interviewer is most likely not going to take the prospective student seriously, especially if the interviewer is the dean of admissions. i know serena can "get away" with wearing anything, but honestly, that interview outfit made me want to punch a wall.

Blair looks absolutely beautiful in the latest episode, especially in the latter part of it. I love the outfits she wore on her birthday party and the morning after.

well again, as is indicated, she isn't truly living a hippie lifestyle. Either way, no one said you had to be poor or middle-class to be a hippie/child of the 60s. I just don't think her outfits are as bad as people make them out to be. She can't help that she isn't flat, what are they going to do? Always cover her up? The only outfit that was incredibly silly was when she was wearing a slip with heels when Aaron came around that one time

I loved what she wore to the Yale interview, and again, the point was that it wasn't a big deal to her, she was just doing it to annoy Blair, so of course she's not going to dress conservatively.
