Gossip Girl Fashion (September 2007 - July 2009)

I for one want to know where Serena's metallic tweed trench is from!

Sometimes it's the actual pieces (if they are still available) but since they shot the pilot and the next 2 episodes in advance, those have a bunch of look-a-likes mixed in.

Get Gossip Girl Style

Manhattan's tony Upper East Side meets The O.C. in the latest high school dramaddiction. Meet blonde beauty Serena and her cohort of schoolmates, whose fabulous outfits could be characters of their own. Check back weekly to see looks from the latest episode and find out where to buy the actual (or look-alike) items.
Catch Gossip Girl on Wednesday nights on the CW www.cwtv.com.

Serena returns

One year after abruptly leaving New York to study abroad, Serena returns home to find plenty of things have changed. In a scene filmed in Grand Central Station, she looks chic and prepared to re-enter her Manhattan life.

THE LOOK
Lively wears a vintage coat, Cheap Monday jeans, a Petit Bateau striped T-shirt, a Ralph Lauren scarf and belt, Coach bag and carries a vintage Vuitton suitcase.

Going-out glitz

"We based Serena on a Kate Moss type," says costume designer Eric Daman. "She just throws things together and looks amazing." In a scene at the Palace Hotel, she awaits her date for a night on the town.

THE LOOK
Blake Lively wears a sequined Tory Burch minidress over Wolford tights.

A new spin on the uniform

While on the steps to the Metropolitan Museum, Blair and her sidekicks Katy and Isabel welcome Serena home in a cold manner: by telling her she is not invited to the upcoming dance. Though they have a school uniform, each girl interprets her accoutrements in her own way.

BLAIR WALDORF (played by Leighton Meester) looks polished from head-to-toe in every scene. She looks prim and prissy in her school uniform, ruffly coat and gold headband.

Some of the original pieces in the show are the actual ones posted on Instyle. Others are past season and not available any more, so a look-a-like is needed to obtain the look.

when does this premiere? I block all the ad's out. I like 'high' fashion moving more into mainstream television. While on the one hand it creates this sort of false idea of how people dress it's nice to see the clothes movements in 'real' life.

Glad there is a Gossip Girl fashion thread.. have a feeling the show is going to be a new guilty pleasure of mine. They do dress great though and I think my favorite is Blair.
