I adore all the looks except for the skirt with leggings, which I find completely heinous and unflattering (not to mention too trendy).

Vikingqueen, you're not the only one who thinks the timing of this whole GOOP enterprise is a bit off. Gwyneth certainly does breathe rarefied air while the majority of us struggle to breathe and make ends meet.

PS I love your avatar, adorefaith. I remember seeing the pic in House and Garden. Sofia's apartment is SO chic!

I have to admit, I read that newsletter like this I'm not sure who her demographic is, but she's definately seeming like she wants it (or just assumes that it will be) at the richer end of the scale, lol. Especially during the newsletter about hotels "I know these are at the pricier end of the scale, but my GOOP girls are looking into cheaper alternatives"

I'm torn.
I also think that her doing this website and these emails is ridiculous and frivolous. Totally unnecessary and hardly the act of an enlightened person.
At the same time... I kinda wish she had a message forum where we could ask her: "Hey - were'd you get those awesome sunglasses???"
So I kind of feel like a fraud myself...
Its hard to judge AND admire her boots at the same time! What's wrong with me!?

i don't think she is out of touch. Why is a simple white shirt priced at $500? One of the reasons is that people are buying it. You don't need to be rich to read her newsletter. You don't need to buy what she recommends. You can just admire or inspired by her clothes options, taste, style.... Do you know that the income demographics of Vogue readers are actually lower than other fashion magazines?

Perhaps from Jennifer Meyer?

Definitely agree with you!! I've enjoyed reading her newsletters so far, but she does seem to be a little out of touch with reality. I like her basic style and the suggestions she gives, but they are a little out of the price range for most people.

And I couldnt stop looking when she said "my GOOP girls are looking into cheaper alternatives" I don't know why, it was just so funny to me.

I still can't believe this GOOP thing isn't a hoax, the newsletter is unintentionally hilarious!

NYCGP and cuppycakes, I'm so with you both. I mean, it's so easy to be inspired by her because she has fabulous taste in not only fashion, but in just how to live a quality life, period. And it's understandable to want insight into how she perfects the art of living, so to speak. But then when you get a glimpse into her privileged world, it just makes you realize how exclusive her world really is in comparison to most Americans' (those hotel rates are outrageous given the lame pound/dollar exchange rate and the fact that she includes a Tod's trench that costs thousands of dollars that she most likely got for free particularly irks me). So it's really a catch 22 type of situation. I'm disillusioned with what I've seen, yet I'm still hungry for more!
