It comes as no surprise that Julia Restoin Roitfeld is the latest darling of the fashion world.


Although the beautiful and chic 25-year-old graduates in May from Parsons, it's really her lineage that tipped off fashion insiders to the fact that Julia is one to watch. Her father had a clothing company, Equipment, and her mother, probably the most talented stylist working in fashion today, is the editor-in-chief of French Vogue. But this doesn't mean Julia's interests are limited to accessorizing the latest D&G look. At school her major included a heavy dose of courses that focused on the business side of design. Her work at Parsons has prepared her to develop and launch new fashion and design projects.


All those elements conspired to lead her to intern at design firm Baron & Baron. "I want to do art direction for a magazine of fashion advertising," she explains. "B & B does so many things." She's currently interning with famed photographer Craig McDean, and her fashion education is aided by reading her mother's magazine.

She also takes acting classes, which might explain her ease in front of the camera. "Acting classes help, but my mom has been shooting me and my brother since we were kids so we're used to it." Is she ever in a situation where she's forced to choose between homework and the Marc Jacobs show? She doesn't hesitate: "The homework comes first."
