"Where is my little Julia?" Mario Testino asked as he breezed into the L.E.S. pad of graphic designer Magnus Berger, the boyfriend of Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, on Saturday night for her 27th birthday party. Hours later, as he was on his way out the door, he teased that he was always the first to arrive and the last to leave a good party. Also there were Restoin's buddy Genevieve Jones, stylist Julia von Boehm (who used to assist Julia's mother, Carine Roitfeld), Arden Wohl, Alexi Lubomirski, and Marchesa's Keren Craig. A common question—along with, Where's the ice?—was how the two lovebirds met. Although the former male model and second-generation fashion aficionada could have easily connected at a fancy schmancy industry soirée, the setting for their romance was far less glamorous. "We met in the office," said Julia, who worked at Baron & Baron after graduating from Parsons (more than just a Tom Ford model, Restoin is also a graphic designer). "It was a scandal for a time, but everyone knows now."
