he's outdone himself in the KL collection. I can't wait for Chanel!! I wonder what the set will look like? will he go oversize à la Charles Ray again?
he said the couture was a new start, blank page and all that... I wonder what he meant exactly..  and were are the interviews? where are the 5 pages articles on his mother, childhood, eating habits, wardrobe and new inspirations?? just because it's been said 100 times already doesn't mean I don't want to read it all over again!! we want MORE!!

^^ How very true!! I mean- are his hands ugly and that is why he wears gloves!!? Did his mother tell him he was boring so today he speaks fast!!?? Is it demode!!?? We need to KNOW!! Karl- tell us!!
I seem to have a strange obsession with the KaiserMobile...I always thought Hummers were so dumb- now i want one, just like this one on the Rue Cambon...It would be an opportunity to look down on the little people- the ones who are no doubt fat and smell bad..They are demode- they bore me... PARIS: Karl Lagerfeld gave fur, the staple of stoles and coats, a new raison d'etre Sunday, sending out fully functional mink-covered motorcycle helmets as part of his winter 2010 ready-to-wear collection. Fur epaulettes also added a quirky touch to military jackets and dressed up long, lean and clean-lined evening gowns. "Now everyone is on scooters, even chic women, so we had to do the helmet," said Lagerfeld, who has reached ueber-celebrity status as the designer for Chanel and Fendi. The helmets, made by French brand Ruby, are road ready and outfitted with an I-pod connection that pumps music directly in, he said. Intl Herald Tribune 3/8/09

^^ i remember the prada helmet (i think it was goat fur) but i also remember it wasnt produced by an "authorized" helmet manufacturer, so they had to be show pieces only.
of course, karl's helmet had to have the ipod connection!!  Quote:

He was chatting with Anna Wintour behind his big, paper-filled desk when I entered the fourth-floor studio. A model in a black boater, her blond curls streaming over her black tweed jacket and frilly white collar, stood more or less at attention at the other end of the room, waiting. I said hey to Anna and as she got up and was saying her goodbyes to Lagerfeld, the studio suddenly filled with people, about 20. Freida Pinto, the star of “Slumdog Millionaire,” had arrived. She looked lovely in a black Chanel jacket and skinny jeans. She and Anna talked for a moment, and then she seemed to talk to everyone. The actress is in Paris to attend the Chanel show tomorrow—her first—and then, she said, she’ll return to India to organize some things. In July, she starts work in London on a Woody Allan film, with Antonio Banderas and Anthony Hopkins. Once the room cleared out, Lagerfeld and I spoke for awhile about the collection. It’s based on his notion of Beau Brummell—no dandies, just impeccable tailoring with white cuffs and collars that can be removed. Expect a lot of black, with an intriguing addition of green and pink jade. As he often does with his guests, even when others are waiting, he walked me down the hall, into the tiny lift and out the front door. It was about 6:45 p.m. on the Rue Cambon. His friends Ingrid Sischy and Sandra Brandt happened to be outside, on their way to Saint Laurent. For a few minutes Lagerfeld stood in the open doorway, and I wondered what passersby must have thought of seeing the famous designer in his high collar and bow tie on his front step. Could they imagine the activity that extended up through five floors to the ateliers? The girls in their ringlet hair with little Lesage rhinestone pasted under their eyes? Could they see all that by looking at the man in the doorway?

From the audio above - Karl is hosting a cocktail party for the launch of Another Fashion Book (a compilation from the Another Magazine archives that are being printed through his publishers) tomorrow night at the Rue Cambon.
