^ Not flattering.... Not the shoes, not the shirt length, nor the top. I kind of like the furry jacket but it just doesn't click with the rest.

It's just amazing to me that with all the resources at Katie's fingertips (finances, stylists, designers, access..etc) she ends up looking like most women in their late 20s/mid 30s who may have a vague interest in fashion but don't really have the eye to put things together properly... she doesn't look ugly (of course, how could she?, she's young and beautiful..) but she rarely looks well dressed.
i think she seems like a really sweet person....so this is nothing personal at all toward Katie...but she really brings home to me that idea of money not being able to buy style. it seems to me she has access to things that so many of us would love to have, and she seems to be interested and curious about fashion, but she just doesn't quite 'get it'...
i hope that's not too mean...

Not too mean at all! I totally agree with everything you say.
I think her curiosity about fashion means that, occasionally, she gets it right and has a nice outfit.
But overall your final point is most salient, "she just doesn't quite 'get it'". Some people have innate style; others don't. Some who don't have that natural 'way with clothes' therefore get the right stylist who works it for them; others don't.
Katie seems to be a "don't" in both those categories. She doesn't have a natural flare, nor does she seem to have a stylist (or someone!) to point her in the right direction. Her closets are probably bursting, but you get the sense she kind of flails around in there and comes up with something often really ... random and weird. A nice piece or two, but none that gel.
Oh, to have her cash...
