Rough translation from an article in Elle.Lou describing her style :

1 - Dresses : lingerie inspired, or with flowers, or with glitter (that I associate with black tights)

2- A very long scarf.'Like the ones that tall young men used to wear at English universities during the 60's'.I have my uncle's, it's very precious'

3 - Hats : Black.Tophats.'I have a polaroid featuring me wearing one at the age of 2'

4- An T-shirt : It has to be very old and soft.

5- Boots: Preferably vintage.Like Mary Poppins's or like in Degas's paintings.To have old shoes allow you to be out of time, to be out of the trends,to have a real fashion style.'

6- Tail coats : Or an old black coat for men.'I have an obsession over tailcoats, I can't explain it.'

Lou Doillon adds that she was quite influenced by her family's artistic habits (to just customize everything from clothes to furnitures), at the same time, wearing heels, dresses and hats just make her feel different from the rest of her family that generally wear jeans and tees.She says that she was always trying to seek attention from her family by wearing extravagant things,it sort of became a joke in her family (among her sisters) when they spot something extravagant, they point at it and say 'Only you could wear that kind of thing'.

Apparently from what I get from the article, the pieces which will be presented in La Redoute summer collection have been designed by designers that Lou and Birkin chose and collaborated with (like E2, Isabel Marant...), Lou will be presenting her own mini collection for La Redoute for the winter collection (featuring 10 pieces).In a few weeks, she will announce her collaboration with an important fashion house.

Well... that's the "celebrities designing" that I don't like

speaking of how smart she seems to be, that reminds me of the answer she gave, when asked how she felt about being an style icon and she said something like that she'd rather be an icon for thinking.
(I can't really give a source for that, I read that in some asian (i guess) forum I came across through google.)
