I... don't hate the photocall look.

I also like the premiere dress.

She's wearing Gaultier! After the lack of Dior during the Allied press tour and now this, I'm beginning to wonder if she's still with Dior.

I think her two looks are great in theory, but very poor in execution. The photocall look was trying to scream trendy but casual, and somehow made her look like an Mormon girl trying to be hip. Her premiere gown is much closer to being good, but something is off -- I'm not quite sure what.

Dear God, what's happening here??? The Gaultier look with stripper platforms is actually the worst so far, but the rest doesn't necessarily impress me. It looks to me like she's over fashion.

I'm also beginning to think her dealings with Dior is over....

I love that she's back to wearing JPG an possibly out of that hideous Dior contract, it's not the best gown but I prefer it to the ugly Saint Laurent mini's that were worn today or the simple beige silk dresses worn by models. I do agree that the shoes could have been different.

The latest look, it could have used a belt but she probably wanted to be comfy. I don't know how I feel about the very first look... too much fabric.

Yep, definitely ditched Dior. She's wearing Chanel, a brand I think she avoided wearing after the Dior contract considering they're rival houses. Remember all that Chanel she wore during the 2007/8 award season?

I actually love her in that gown/jeans combo. Red carpet fashion has become so boring and predictable, it's awesome to have someone try something different and actually pull it off. Very chic.

I didnt click on the image when the above look initially surfaced, now I see she's actually wearing a pleated nude miniskirt? This I can work with (I love nude!!). If only the embellished top was shortened a bit.

She might have been dropped

Cannes: Marion Cotillard Dropped by Dior?
Quote:
The French fashion icon reportedly parted ways with the fashion house just before the film fest.

Eagle-eyed fashion watchers were scratching their heads when longtime Dior spokesperson Marion Cotillard showed up to her Cannes opening night premiere of Ismael's Ghosts in a black dress from competing house Chanel.

The black Chanel lace-up gown, paired with gold platforms, was a bit of an understated look from the normally shining star - especially on such a big night - but it was said to have been a last minute replacement as she was dismissed from the house in a shocking move earlier this week.

Sources say the Cotillard was unceremoniously dropped from the brand by new creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri.

Chiuri, who took the reins of the historic house last July, reportedly wants a newer, younger face for her reimagined brand. The Italian designer has made an effort to take the house in a new, more casual direction with her “We Should All Be Feminists” T-shirt partnership with Rihanna, her denim-dominated fall collection and her recent western-themed cruise runway show in the wilds of Calabasas.

Cotillard is said to be upset by the abrupt dismissal after a nearly decade-long relationship with the house, where she has fronted 15 campaigns since 2008.

The surprise move is also said to be causing strife between luxury conglomerate Louis Vuitton Moet Hennesey chairman Bernard Arnault and Dior CEO Sydney Toledano. LVMH recently took control of the couture house in a $13 billion deal to simplify the ownership structure.

Reps for Dior did not respond to request for comment.

Which 15 year old is gonna replace her, I wonder...

Good riddance. Good timing, too, given the current state of Dior. They can replace her with Ms Basic herself Bella Hadid as the face of Lady Dior as well because that's all they deserve.

She wore Gaultier at the premiere, though, not Chanel.
