ashley probably wasn't paid for her zac posen internship and m-k probably wasn't for hers with annie leibovitz...i think as part of the program they were in at nyu, you have to do an internship, and you receive college credit...

sometimes you're offered a stipend to help you get to and from the job, or you get perks like getting to go to parties, free clothes, etc....
it's very rare for an intern to get paid...
it's more about getting the experience, and forming connections that can help you get a job later...
and at many big designer houses, being an intern can lead to you getting a paying job later on...

anywoo..it would be very cool to work for them...
i imagine it would be some hard work but you'd also have fun just hanging out with them...

Personally, it doesnt bother me as long as they dont do it all the time. I think they should have expected to be asked for a comment on such an event.

They just seem so unsocial and uninterested to maintain their image unless they are promoting something.

As for the rude to the reporter thing... They are only invited to fashion shows and other events because they bring press to the event, so to refuse to even say a few words to a reporter from a legit fashion press source (not a paparazzi or heckler) is really just off-sides. I don't care how "shy" you are.

As for the internship... It is probably not paid because, first of all, most internships are not. AND also because despite the fact that the twin's have a personal fortune, it is not likely that The Row has shown any sort of profit yet, so it is probably a huge help for them to have some free labor...

And for the rude thing, I think most of celebrities are that rude, I mean, I think they're girls even if they're famous... Most of us won't like to be persued by papparazzis all day long, and then asking the reporters questions... It's like, hell! let me alone.

At my school you have to do an internship for college credit and 90% of them aren't paid. But it is a great way to get experience and get your foot in the door and a lot of time, once the semester is over, people are asked to stay on as an employee. As far as the row goes, I doubt the intern will work directly with the olsens, he/she will probably never even see them.
