And this was just Cannes!! Looks like we are in for a treat with the premiere of this film. At all of the Cannes events they seem to have this light/dark thing, and it's not even orchestrated. Rooney especially does the monochrome trend so much justice.

Congratulations for Rooney, that's great! Too bad she did not attend the ceremony, though.

Yes!! So glad she won. This is certainly the start of what looks like a very interesting campaign.

I mean, are they saying good things? Everything I've heard has said Emmanuelle Bercot was incredibly over the top and the film was widely trashed. But at any rate, Rooney looks beautiful in the crop top skirt combo even though we've seen it a million times already.

I think the French medias barely mention her because she was not present to receive the prize and she shares it with a french actress. Besides Mon Roi made a lot of noise because it divided viewers and critiques opinions. Apparently men hate it and women loven it.

Still, everybody was raving about Rooney's performance in Cannes. Some people even said that her performance was even stronger than Cate's. I'm really happy that she won. The film is definitely heading towards an Oscar campaign but I don't know if they'll push Rooney as the lead or go with Cate and campaign for Rooney as Supporting actress.

I've yet to see this film, but I dont think Cate will settle for second billing in Carol. As such Rooney will take the second billing place and ultimately her team will campaign for supporting. She stands a better chance at winning supporting anyway, when you think of her going head to head with Marion. Same thing happened to Cate in The Aviator. Her role was essentially the female lead of that film, but to better her chances with awards they campaigned for supporting.
