Gosh !

Those pics are so great !!! thanks all.
I wonder who's she looking at when she looks up to someone with a black and white dress. I do not identified a model of Chanel so it must be a guest. Her face there is beautiful.

My goodness she looks like the tiniest person in some of those pictures--almost like a little doll. She's got a cuteness to her and I like the jacket.

^ According to the press she's been pregnant for the past three years

With a big tour and promotional work for the album, a new film and other projects coming up over the next six months or so, I highly doubt that she is.

She looks wonderful in these recent pictures, she really is glowing it seems and her skin looks great! I adore her... I do like the hair too, it looks less nice in some of the pictures, but all in all, I think she looks fantastic and beautiful and rested.

Two bits of news!

I received a PM from Vanessa Paradis Net, and this is what it contained:

Source: Vanessa Paradis Net

It's a real shame about the watermark, but hopefully we'll get one without it soon.

And an interview from Le Parisien that AngieDee originally posted, and that Mykool has now translated:

Quote:
Here's a translation. The automatic translators don't cope with metaphors very well. Hope this sounds more like English. The only phrase I'm not sure of is "perte de soi" which means literally "waste/loss/ruin of oneself". Does she mean depression? The meaning of the sentence seems to be "why should love be seen as more intimate than sorrow?" If a phrase can't be translated into English I have put further explanation in brankets to bring out the full meaning. Feel free to suggest changes if you feel there is a better way to translate something.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With Vanessa Paradis, it happens like it does with Americans: an hour late, a half-hour for interview and with strict conditions attached. “Speak only about music” instruct her entourage. In other words, no personal questions. In any case, the young woman of 34 is old enough to kick the ball into touch as soon as you go beyond the topic of her latest record, the first since “Bliss” in 2000. So let’s talk about “Divine idyll” to be released on 3 September, the pretty new 35 minute long album of 11 songs created in collaboration with Matthieu Chedid, aka the singer M, which is being promoted in Paris now and of which we got a sneak preview.

Interviewer: When did you start to think about this record?

Vanessa Paradis: After my last tour, my life, my workload had settled down. I felt like taking my guitar and feeling about for some songs. It was more than 5 years ago. I hate to say it! It’s so long. I am not quick at all. The album started for real when I started to work with Matthieu (Chedid).

Was it inevitable that you would work with him after your collaboration on “Bliss”?

No, because I felt like being bold and doing it on my own. The problem is that I made no progress. I worked on the songs little by little without words. They never got off the ground. But collaborating with Matthieu is not as painstaking as that. We are friends anyway (outside of work). He gave me his opinion on listening to the little things I had. Then his father, Louis Chedid, asked me to sing for “le Soldat Rose”. Matthieu and I started to talk again. One evening, he started an arrangement for a song I had. Franck Monnet joined up with us again and wrote the words for “la Melodie” virtually in front of our eyes. There and then, it was clear that we were going to make the album together.

What is it you like about Matthieu Chedid?

I love his world. There is nothing oppressive. Matthieu is a very good listener. He started by letting me talk. The starting point was the songs I had brought. After that, he introduced me to some friends of his that I could work with: Brigitte Fontaine who penned a song, and the lyricist Jean Fauque. On my side, I had co-written “Incendie” with a longtime friend, Serge Ubrette. I also contacted Thomas Ferson, whose poetry and humour I love and he wrote a song.

“Bliss” was very personal, this one seems less centred on you....

“Bliss” spoke in particular about my love life and the fact of becoming a mother. And then, other people wanted to see it as intimate. People felt like putting their own spin on my songs. But my life is also presented on this new album. “The battle” is about the confusion you can have in your mind. “Junior suite” is about loneliness. Why should love be seen to be more intimate than the disorder and waste/loss of yourself? (sadness?Depression?)People create and recreate the lives of celebrities, one minute they want to know then they don’t give a damn because there is something more interesting that has come along!

Things have been written about the release of this CD, that it was delayed because of your daughter’s illness…

It’s nobody’s business. It is not me who has chosen to speak about it.

Has it shocked you?

I don’t feel like talking about it to you!

There is also talk about marriage with your partner Johnny Depp?

No.

There’s nothing to it?

No, that’s the second time I have answered you!

Are you already thinking of touring?

It will be with the band on the album. We start rehearsing in September. I feel like doing something with friends.

What about the movies?

There is “The key” (NDLR: by Guillaume Nicloux) which is released in the autumn. It is a thriller with a lot of actors like Guillaume Cannet, Jean Rochefort. I play a girl down on her luck (homeless?).

Have you missed the French public?

You know, I don’t spend all my time in the US. I am not completely cut off from France. It depends on the situation at the time. Ideally, it would be 50-50, but it depends on (our) schedules.

So did you vote?

No. I am not a very political person. I know that is irresponsible but I have other things that take up more importance in my life.
