That's true about Kate. She's in a very different league compared to Vanessa though, so I'm not sure if it's totally fair to compare them. Kate's known worldwide, whereas Vanessa's not that well known outside of France, other than for being Johnny's girlfriend.

I'm glad you said some fans. I personally don't care that much about her talking loads about her private life. I enjoy her films, her music and her photoshoots and any more than that is just a bonus. Others however look upto her in a much bigger way, and do want all the inside details as well as the work.

Maybe I'm like that because I was a fan of Johnny's first, still am, and so haven't developed the passionate admiration for Vanessa that others have who've seen her more in her own right. If that makes sense.

I don't get it why Paradis should do interviews because of the publicity. She's not in the same category as Moss or Penn, but she doesn't need to be. She's never shown any sign of wanting international success since Joe Le Taxi. She has more than enough money to live as she wants until she dies, so there are no good reasons that I can come up with.

I don't know really. She does it I guess to promote her work, and the majority of interviews she does do are in France. I suppose it's just to show that she's still out there working, and she isn't just mother of Johnny's children and nothing else.

Well, she doesn't talk about anything else than being a mother or wife so I guess that's not the reason.

But who is asking the questions? Who chooses which questions and answers to actually publish in the article?

You can bet that the ones that are published are not the only ones asked and answered in the interview, but the editor will make the choice over whether or not to include certain ones.

It may seem like she only talks about her family which in itself is fair enough, but at the end of the day she probably doesn't get the final say as to what goes into the final article, so she could have been talking about her work and many other things for all we know.

Well, I have to say I prefer Vanessa over Kate anyday. I don't know what is is about Moss, but she irks me and if she was still with Johnny I don't think I'd be very happy.

I've only discovered Van since Johnny too. I didn't know anything about her personal life and I almost prefer it that way. This way I can just judge her by her work and not have to worry about "Oh she sings good, but I heard...etc" which has happened to me with a lot of other celebrities. So I'm glad she's not big on blabbing about her personal life.

Oh okay

Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on anything. I like her older stuff more too. Her voice deepened and she's not as high pitched. I love that song from Atomik Circus (I'm SO murderering the spelling) Ma Petroules. I don't know why, but I adore it. Also really like Pourtant.

True, but she does open her mouth herself to answer those questions about her private life. She could say "I apologize, but I want to keep my private life private".

Captain Lydia, have you heard Le Petit Vent Du Desert? It's on the Atomik Circus soundtrack. Probably one of the most beautiful songs I've heard. And I like Ma Petroleuse too.

But it seems she doesn't want to keep her private life that private any more. Obviously there are boundaries, but I think she feels more comfortable talking about it now.

At the end of the day it's all a whole load of speculation on my part as to what she does and doesn't do, I'm just trying to put myself in her shoes and see it from her perspective.

I absolutely adore La Petit Vent du Desert, it's one of the few songs I can leave on repeat for ages.

Whoa! The video in and of itself is actually pretty cool, but the dude's comments about it and Vanessa just kinda make it creepy.

i absolutely love all of vanessa's music, except joe le taxi, which is her most popular song
is there something i'm missing?
