This is what i have been waiting for. She design dresses. IMO she looks better in a dress than in a jeans, maybe because i prefer her glamor Look. So can´t wait to see the result and how is gonna look like.

$1200 starting point for a dress?

Victoria, you have to be kidding me. Don't you listen to your customers? Your costumers were saying how $250-$350 on a per of jeans is a lot. The spice girls tickets were cheaper than your jeans and I had floor seats at MSG. Your jeans are worth more than the tickets? haha. Didn't you notice that your jeans were selling for $69.99???

I don't know posh??!?! but if you or your people look at this page you will realize that the Marc by Marc Jacob dresses that you were are ALOT CHEAPER than $1200. At the end of the day people will look at ur name but the competition next to you will win.

Dont disappoint your fans because once they wait in line to see u launch and to buy your dresses, the price points are going to scare off and you will be signing Spice Girls CDs.

I understand that you want to be taken seriously but before being a "fashion designer" your a fashionista and before being a fashionista your a spice girl and $1200 is CRAZY.

I love posh and want her to suceed but it really does sound like she throws her name on something and give it a unpurchable price point. I though by nowshe would have listened to her customers because without them you wont sell.

oh! and Release the DVD it will cost $40 and thats a guarantee extra couple of millions in your wallet.

Victoria - If i were you I would look at it from this view - Your a college graduate, your young, full of ideas and have all the financial baking to play with but you have to SELL. $1200 starting point on a dress is crazy. You may use the best tailoring and fabrics but before you can charge $1200 you have to make sure that you will sell and that your costumers (FANS) can afford your clothes.

-Your customers are 16-28 (spice girls fans) and most of them are in college. $250 for a per of jeans is alot so $1200 for a dress is crazy. I think you should sing "OUR OF YOUR MIND"

Kimair thanks a million hun for posting the article. I LOVE IT, this is what i want and miss from magazine interviews, they are always so cought up in Victoria Bekcham the celebrity, that we never get a nice article of her as a buisnesswoman tallking about her projects like here.

Its very exciting, i cant wait to see her dress collection, and the TV ad for the perfume.

I personally don't think she's aiming her clothing line to her fans. she's trying to build a high end brand if she prices low it'll be like any cheap celeb line. I personally like the way she dresses....but I wouldn't buy her clothes just because its got her name on it, having said that I loved the rock republic crown jeans....the fit was great. Not keen on her new denim line at all.

yes, thank you for the article. i have no issues with the pricing of her dresses. first off, she said they would be things she would wear. she wears high end clothes. as for her fans, her fans of what the spice girls?

i happen to be a fan of her style as are many other people, and she wears designer, expensive clothes. so, i expected nothing less from her own line. why wouldn't she want to compete with the people who's clothes she has showcased for years?

if in time, after the clothes have done well, she wants to make a cheaper line that would be cool. but it makes perfect sense she'd start this high, for what she is trying to do.

Yes, it's probable that if the high-end line does well, she will do a secondary 'affordable' line as well, like many designers have done. But for what she wants, she needs to establish a strong brand of quality first, seeing as she wants to do this forever. It's so throwaway when celebrities bring out cheap lines with department stores, it's obvious they are just putting their name to something as they want some quick cash and then move onto the next project. And FYI, the Olsen twins designer brand has had pieces that are priced over $10,000 and I would say Victoria's fanbase includes more people who are older and more cash rich than the Olsens'. But she is doing what she wants rather than what Joe Bloggs wants, there is nothing wrong with that, she has the opportunities and money to be able to do that.

i agree with s0436- i dont think she is trying to sell to her fans but rahter to people who appreciate quality and style. Im glad she is not like kate moss who has a line at topshop or hilary duff with stuff@zellers. now those celebrites are trying to capture their fans but saying if you buy an item of cothing, you['ll be part of who i am or something. Victoria is simply just wanting to be a high end designer whose customers/buyers will buy because of the style and quality. Im sure she doesnt want cheap trannies wearing her items. But i do have to agree 1200 is expensive but Im sure she wont disappoint us. hopefully.

if you bought a dress from some of the designers victoria regularly wears--marc jacobs, valli, oscar de la renta, roland mouret--you would easily spend $1200 on a dress...
she's aiming it at women like herself, not her fans...

I think that the dresses she will put out will have to jusitfy the price.She is not dumb and if her product wouldnt have quality that those boutiques demand it simply wouldnt be carried, so i am sure its top notch.

But i wouldnt go as faar and compare her to Olsen twins line, they are way way bigger than VB and cater not to the same client, and they have put out lots of lines alredy all very successful and in demand.

But Victoria is way more savy than people will give her credit for and she has been building her brand with the right pace; its been more than 4 years since she opened dVb Brand.Limited and she has done denim lines, jewllery,sunglasses, fragrances and make-up line for the Asian market...all successfuly.And now is time for clothing, i love that she didnt go out and put on a Fashion Show just because she can, she is serious about this.

I also LOVE how she admits that although she is the creative director fo the brand she does have a team in London, New York and LA...of real designers who went to school and know how to tehnically make a good dress,i never read Gwen Stefani mentioning any of that.

So i say bring it, i can not wait to see the line.

ps:Taniquee thats right, i am here because i like VBs style too, never been a fan of Spice Girls or interested in her as a singer...so if i truly madly loved the dress i would buy it.
