Thanks to both kimkhhu and kimair!! I wasn't able to find the runway counterparts of Kirsten Dunst's and Teri Hatcher's dresses. And I was not able to pin down J Lo's coat either--now I know it is Balenciaga. It's one of my fave runway looks of the season, but J Lo made it so childish, with the ringlets and ribbon boots. She could've done better with that Stella McCartney dress as well, without the hat at least.

J Lo's other Balenciaga moments... Boots from AW03:

While waiting for more looks from SS05 to unleash...

Nicole Kidman (with her sister) wearing Tom Ford's farewell YSL collection to the Tony Awards. Not her best moment, neither was Tom's. But I wonder if she'd continue to wear YSL/Gucci now that Ford is not at the helm anymore.

Looking at GettyImages, I realize that this is one of the very few AW04 runway looks that she did. This and the peach Chloe dress (no pic @ GettyImages). She wore mostly Lanvin and Chanel throughout the season, but they were prob. specially made for her and did not even appear on the runway. I did catch her in Louis Vuitton and Prada resort looks, but again, no pix.

This Prada dress from AW04 was all over the place and appeared on two celebs. I don't think Gwyneth wore it well. And she wore it pretty late into the season as well. A surprise.

Scarlett Johansson looking very tasteful in Louis Vuitton AW04 without the capelet. She's also worn looks from Dolce & Gabbana and Miu Miu that I can't pin down, as well as specially commissioned Calvin Klein gowns given her perfume contract with the company. This girl's moving up the ladder fast!

Kate Bosworth, giving Julien McDonald's last collection at Givenchy some attention.

2004 was an extremely successful year for Lanvin, in terms of design and PR. Basking in her post-Oscar glow, Charlize Theron wore a lot of Lanvin (both from SS04 and FW04) at the Cannes festival, which is typically one of the best 'Hollywood debut' places for FW collections. I think she looks better than Isabeli. But my favorite Lanvin celeb looks is on Kidman, donning a look from SS04. I will post later.

Charlize Theron in Dolce & Gabbana AW04. I think Naomi Campbell also wore this.

Uma Thurman may not have won an Oscar, but she did as many designer looks as Theron did, if not more. She also proved addicted to the look of jeans paired with a luxurious jacket, often in tweed, even though I think this look is on its way out now (what's the next big thing with jeans? dresses-over-jeans is over too). Here, in an Ungaro jacket and jeans to the MTV movie awards.

Bridget Moynahan in Narciso Rodriguez AW04. Another example of a celebrity's elevating a runway look.

Scarlett Johansson wearing a modified Alberta Ferretti gown to the Oscars. Great collection. One of the dresses made it to the cover of Vanity Fair, Sept 2004.

Sofia Coppola in Chloe AW04 at Cannes. Looks good, for a change. As far as vintage chicks are concerned, I like her better than Chloe Sevigny.

Sofia Coppola in Marc Jacobs's AW04 @ the Oscars. I think that she was so stressed during the award season that she didn't really have time to plan what to wear. So she just called up her favorite designer and asked for his finale dress. In an interview later, Marc Jacobs confessed to be surprised and flattered. If it were up to him, he'd choose Chanel couture.

Another one for Marc: Naomi Watts at the Costume Institute Gala.
