36.- Puss (Sweden 2010) It was ok, Gustaf
37.- Apt Pupil (US 1997) I don't think I've ever watched a movie with Ian McKellen that I didn't like, plus Brad Renfro nails it.
38.- Julie & Julia (US 2009) Loved it so much...I guess it's 'cause I'm such a foodie.
39.- The Ramen Girl (US, Japan 2008) Two hours of my life I've wasted and never getting back
40.- Victor/Victoria (UK, US 1982) Julie Andrews 'nough said.
41.- Kill Your Darlings (Sweden, US 2006) Weird plot, but Alexander Skarsgard makes one hell of a drag queen
42.- The Last Seven (UK 2010) Best movie I've seen all year.Really unexpected.
43.- Big Night (US 1996) Just worth it to watch Marc Anthony and Tony Shalhoub's great.
44.- Rosemary's Baby (US 1967) Thought it was too long but the storyline was really catching...Mia Farrow's acting is HORRIBLE though.
45.- Coraline (US 2009) I'm sure Coraline and I would be friends irl. Loved the script.
46.- Beyond the Pole (2009) Beautiful scenery, I liked the end...some parts where just too long and unnecesary.
47.- LA Confidential (1997) Good storyline, good acting, really good movie.
48.- Contagion (US 2011) It was nice to see a different side of this type of movie (28 days later and the like) I was really into it from start to finish.
49.- Cowboys and Aliens (US 2011) Daniel Craig makes such a good cowboy. Typical alien movie but the scenery and cowboy clothes made it feel really different.
50.- Horrible Bosses (2011) Laughed so hard and so much...best ab workout I had in a while.

Lets see if I can remember all the ones I saw this year so far.

01. The Descendants (2011) - better than I expected, but Payne has done better
02. Take Shelter (2011) - great one, Michael Shannon was incredible
03. Hugo (2011) - HATED IT, one of the worst and most overrated films ever
04. Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011) - a ton of fun, highly entertaining
05. Exit through the Gift Shop (2010) - interesting, but it didn't quite meet my high expectations
06. Pina (2011) - complete letdown, I was so excited to see it too
07. The Adventures of Tintin (2011) - some great action sequences, but a terrible movie otherwise
08. Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011) - surprisingly good, especially for being a sequel
09. My Week with Marilyn (2011) - another surprise, Michelle Williams nailed it
10. Young Adult (2011) - I'm no fan of Diablo Cody, but Charlize sells this
11. The Little Foxes (1941) - delicious, Bette Davis is sublime
12. The Snake Pit (1948) - very well done feel good movie
13. Great Expectations (1946) - one of the worst "good' movies I have ever seen
14. Saving Private Ryan (1998) - epic (duh), one of Spielberg's absolute best
15. Some Like it Hot (1959) - Tony, Jack and Marilyn were such great sports here
16. The Odd Couple (1968) - surprisingly disappointing, I had high hopes
17. Being There (1979) - great little movie, charming
18. The Apartment (1960) - typically not my thing, but really well done so I ended up loving it
19. Dersu Uzala (1975) - without a doubt one of my all time favorites
20. Amadeus (1984) - another epic, I've been wanting to see it for a while, was not disappointed
21. Scarface (1983) - lmao, so terrible, but by the end of it I ended up sort of enjoying it
22. California Suite (1978) - Maggie Smith/Michael Caine story was good, Walter Matthau was great, the rest is garbage
23. All About Eve (1950) - expected it to be good, did not realize it was THAT good
24. The Bicycle Thieves (1948) - another classic that deserves its status
25. The Triplettes of Belleville (2003) - did not live up to my expectations, charming, but eh...
26. Shame (2011) - great, both Michael and Carrey were outstanding
27. My Neighbor Totoro (1988) - watched it without subtitles so I don't know if it counts, lol
28. Short Cuts (1993) - incredible piece of filmmaking by Altman, outstanding ensemble
29. Beauty and the Beast (1991) - it's 'greatness' is lost on me, it's no match to Pixar's best imo

I tend to go through phases where I watch a bunch of films that are within a specific genre, made by the same director, starring a specific actor or something else entirely. I just went through a Jacques Tati phase. And now I seem to gravitate toward early Emma Thompson films.
I thought I was the only one like this. I can remember films I've watched based on who's in them cuz when I get obsessed with somebody, I try to watch everything they ever starred in. (It was easier in my teens, when I was obsessed with fewer stars. The older I've gotten, the more people I fangirl over, and so it's harder to watch everything, but I'm determined.)

I love Jacques Tati!

I know you didn't ask me this question but I hope you don't mind me giving my two cents. Anyways, I really enjoyed MWWM and thought Michelle Williams was able to capture the essence of Marilyn. It was kinda eerie to be honest. Also, I like how Marilyn wasn't just portrayed as a bombshell but rather as a complex women; like showing that even at the beginning of her marriage they had issues, she wanted to be respected as an actress, she understood that Marilyn was a role, etc. Michelle Williams was obviously the standout but I also liked Eddie Redmayne's portrayal of his character, his quite but a powerful presence, and I think he's an actor who will continue to gain critical acclaim. Anyways, definitely worth a watch, the clothes were glorious as well.
