For some reason I've overlooked The Maltese Falcon all these years.

I don't like Sabrina that much either, and I've tried very hard. Father Larrabee is the best thing about the movie for me. I just love when Walter Hampden pops out of the smoky closet. <3

I have friends who find it to be the best Audrey ever was in, though.

Oh thank goodness I'm not the only one who didn't like Sabrina. Sometimes it feels like sacrilege to say that you don't like a certain old hollywood actress/actor/film. And I agree, Father Larrabee was the best thing about the film. I love his comedic timing. I think Audrey was really good in it but I just didn't like the storyline.

Sabrina is overrated, but I have always enjoyed how it's so blatant (to me at least) in it's "romance isn't real, it's all manufactured just as much as this glass is." (Though it seems to be an undercurrent in nearly all of Audrey's films. She doesn't get enough credit for how cynical her films can be and are.)

Oh, I agree. I'm not the biggest fan of Ava Gardner and I feel people will murder me for it. I didn't enjoyed Sabrina like I enyojed other Audrey romantic movies. I think is because Audrey and Humphrey didn't have that much chemistry or at least, I didn't really buy it.

I liked Sabrina as a Billy Wilder film, but not as an Audrey Hepburn film... if that makes sense. However, I don't think it's the best work of anybody in that film.

Actually for anybody that likes Billy Wilder, I saw the film "One, Two, Three" last weekend and I thought it was excellent. James Cagney is working for Coca-Cola in West Berlin and he's supposed to keep an eye on his boss' daughter who is in love with a Communist from East Berlin. Maybe it's just because I like the history of that period, but I loved all the Cold War humour and how snappy it was.

The reasons why I am so deeply attracted to Robert Donat and Robert Mitchum are far beyond my human understanding.

23. Vera Drake
24. To Rome With Love
25. Anna
26. The Amazing Spider Man | best thing about this: Andrew Garfield. The rest is..bleh.
27. On the Road | I haven't read the book (who has said the movie isn't as good as), but it made me want to. Makes you want to live all that, meeting all those interesting people, living all those crazy experiences...The cast is great (even Kristen bothered me), Sam & Garrett (what a man!!) are perfect in this.
28. The F Word | Documentary on being a parent AND a punk rock star. It's funny how the movie shows their parallel lives - a rebel on the stage & a model citizen to their kids.
