I Jude, but I don´t think he should win because he a) will have many years of good movies to come, hasn´t proved himself as a really amazing actor yet and c) seems to be a little conceited already...
ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE
Tim Robbins or Ken Watanabe
Benicio has done better movies and Alec is not the best actor...

Set in 1950s Sweden, this revenge fantasy finds troubled teen Erik (Andreas Wilson) shuffled off to a conservative boarding school, where biology teachers still teach Aryan superiority, and discipline is maintained by a group of fascist older boys headed by Silverhielm (Gustaf Skarsgård, son of Stellan). Erik responds to their bullying with Christ-like nonviolence, but is finally forced to beat the crap out of them, after telling them sadistically which of their bones he is going to break.
Horray! for City of God. I am so excited that it got four nominations (though it deserved even more!)
This year's list of nominations is full of surprises. Thanks for the post!

I'm so happy city of god is nominated that film was amazing - I want Lost in Translation or In America to win for best screenplay
lol I don't think Jude Law will win even though I like him - I don't know about him being conceited, I have a friend who was a set assistant on Cold Mountain and he said Jude was really nice
I've been following these awards shows for years (movie buff here :P ) and I think the reason Nicole, Tom, etc. are not nominated in the Oscars bbut were in the Globes is because the Hollywood Foreign Press (Those who decide the winners in the Golden Globes) love big production movies, no kidding (though I'm glad they acknowledged Lost In Translation).
I'm happy with the nominees except for The House of Sand and Fog.
PS Watch the SAGs everyone. They are the most accurate in deciding the winners. They only made a mistake 4 times. The most recent was 2002 when they chose Sisey Spacek (Best Actress) but Halle Berry won the Oscar.
The SAG also gave Renee the award for best actress last year, but the Oscar went to Nicole.
I was shocked that that little Keisha Castle Hughes was nominated. I heard a lot of great things about her and the movie, but come on, a 13 year old recieving a best actress nomination for her debut film? But I must say that this year, the Academy Awards will be better than the past shows given the diversity of the acting nominees.
